"I'll be back sooner than later"
A hurricane north of the Bahamas wiped out the beach and made the water too choppy for swimming. There was no rain or cloudiness though and the hotel pool, gym, and bar was more than adequate refuge. I rarely spend time in my hotel when in Jamaica, I usually use the room for sleeping and showering. Travellers met those needs and then some. My wife and I liked it so much that we already have a room booked for December 2015.

"Beautiful and basic!"
We stayed here for a week and loved every minute of it. The location is perfect and the price is just right. The rooms were basic, but very clean and perfect for our needs(sleep, shower, store clothes). Water pressure was just fine,as was the hot water, and the AC worked wonderfully. Staff was AMAZING! Polite, friendly, and very respectful. Maid service did an excellent job of keeping the room clean and stocked with towels/toilet paper. Staceyann and the other ladies at the front desk were always polite, friendly, and accommodated our every need. Check in was a breeze, exceptional job! Food in the restaurant was good, but the waitresses,Delores and Latoya, were outstanding. They will try to make sure your every meal is enjoyable. The drivers,Audley and Stephen, were always on hand to take us anywhere we wanted. The beach was always kept clean, and there were plenty of loungers/umbrellas to use. Security was always on top of things. Winston,Cliff, and Garfield kept the vendors moving, unless we called them over. Safety was never an issue. The grounds are extremely beautiful, and you can tell the gardener works hard to keep it that way. He may even cut some fresh cocnut for you. The only bad thing I can say is........my stay was too short. I will be returning to this resort on my next trip, and I would highly recommend it to others as well.

"This hotel is one of the nicer hotels on the beach"
We stayed on the street side of the Rondel. While we were there, they were installing a stop light which will help. There was always a crossing guard but sometimes cars would not stop for him. I still would recommend the street side as the prices are much more reasonable and the crossing of the street is no big deal. You are still very close to the beach. Be sure to take a street taxi on your own for 900 Jamaican (9.00 US) into town or to Ricks Cafe as the hotels want $10 U.S. per person each way. This allowed four people to travel for $9.00 each way total. Overall, we enjoyed staying at the Rondel.

"Friendly, family owned, makes you feel welcomed."
My husband and I stayed on the 7 mile beach in Negril many times over the years and the Negril Tree House is a gem, finding the right mix of laid back, with entertainment planned for a couple nights a week. All rooms have a great rope hammock-style chair hanging from the ceiling outside each room on the wrap-around veranda, as well as a patio table and chairs. Example of entertainment is first night we were there was a bonfire and movie on the beach WITH great popcorn that the owner made herself! The room price has a wonderful breakfast included. Yes there are a lot of other choices along the beach for other meals, but you should try their hotel restaurant, which was fantastic and reasonably priced. And I can't give enough praise to all the wait staff and cooks. Special thank you to Movie-Star/the Singin'chef who creates the magic of his DELICIOUS chicken at his grill, and to Collins our waiter, who goes far beyond his duties to help create a perfect evening and take care of you. And it seemed like a place where a single person can go, experience the beach, and still have a place to feel at home and feel welcomed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and plenty of storage space for clothing. The bathtub could use some repairing of rust which comes with humid environments. Note: I was surprised that there are no hair dryers in the rooms, and not sure if they had any on request since I didn't ask for one. We loved our 2nd stay here, and honestly, we can't wait to go back!

"Love Negril Beach Club have stayed here many times"
I normally go Jan, Feb and March but went in August this year right after Jamaica's Independence. Not a lot going on as it was off season but the hotel was clean and very quiet. Beach was pristine and peaceful. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves the whole time. Restaurant was good but because of being off season menu was limited.

"Wonderful people, beautiful beach, great food!"
My daughter and I just returned from a 5 night stay at Country Country. The cottages are spacious, are neat and clean, however, we had to ask to be moved to a different cottage after two nights as the air conditioner was leaking and dripping on my head and the bed. We were moved to a ground floor cottage closer to the beach. Air conditioning in Jamaica is not what we are used to in the States. Even turned on high, the air conditioner didn't keept the cottage very cool during the heat of the day, but it kept the room cool at night for sleeping. The beds are extremely hard, so if you are used to a soft mattress, you might have trouble sleeping. They put a "feather bed" (which was essentially a thin padded mattress pad) on the bed for me, but it didn't help. I will say, however, that the staff are extremely attentive and helpful, and even sent a bottle of wine and a fruit plate to us for our "little inconveniences". It was a very nice gesture and was appreciated. Each cottage has a porch with chairs and a table, perfect for listening to the whistling frogs at night. The cottages are on a lovely, clean beach, with a bar/restaurant which serves very good food. We actually ate most of our meals there because it was so good. We had no trouble getting a taxi ride to town where we ate patties and coco bread ( a must!) and visited the craft market, and arranged for a day trip with a driver, which was well worth the money to see YS Falls, the Blue Hole, the lighthouse and Rick's Cafe. We ate sugarcane, had lunch at a roadside restaurant (fabulous curry shrimp) and learned a lot about the island and it's people. Country Country is a gem if you are looking for a smaller, less commercial experience. The location on the beach and the wonderful staff make it a place I would return to (but I'd take a foam mattress topper along).
