In the city center, Lotte Hotel Seoul is in Seoul's Myeongdong neighborhood, an area with good airport proximity. Dongdaemun History and Culture Park and War Memorial of Korea are cultural highlights, and some of the area's notable landmarks include Deoksugung Palace and Sungnyemun Gate. Traveling with kids? Don't miss Lotte World, or check out an event or a game at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
I have stayed at this hotel before and was quite disappointed with my room this time (last time I really liked my room) which was very old and uncomfortable. The bed was basically a solid block with a topper - very hard and unpleasant. The room was also quite noisy with a weird sporadic rumbling noise that I thought at first was helicopters outside (it was not). Most disappointing was the condition of the room - very run down, the floor heavily scratched a pot marked, dressing gowns were thin and scratchy - no longer fluffy and everything just felt old a tired. Housekeeping kept the room spotlessly clean, but small details irritated - they threw away the shower cap but didnt leave a new one; they changed the bedding daily despite me not leaving the card for them to do so (we're all supposed to be trying to save the planet). This is a nice hotel, but the rooms need a major refurb to make this feel like the 5 star hotel it is supposed to be.
