DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Pros: its in the downtown area
Cons: add sound barriers to the rooms replace the non-working a/c unit eliminate the horrible smell
Location: Scranton was very nice
We travel about once a month and stay in many hotels - DO NOT STAY HERE!! The walls amplified the sounds in the next room - there is no sound barrier; the guy in the room next door coughed and I thought he was in our room. He was having a conversation in normal tone with his wife and it was getting late, I spoke in almost normal volume asking him to keep it down and he apologized - it's like we were in the same room. The guy in the room behind us was talking half the night and it kept us up could't sleep- he wouldn't shut up. The AC unit was so loud and rattling that we couldn't run it and sleep and the room would get hot so we couldn't sleep from the temperature - OHHH IT WAS HELL!!. The smell was reminiscent of a nursing home - a combination of old and sour and musty and RANK!! the smell started outside the room and by the time you were inside the room it was overwhelming. There was no maid service in our room, but the other items were so horrible that it didn't matter. Radisson may have invested a lot on the common areas but they failed on the room essentials Privacy-Cleanliness and Comfort PICK ANOTHER PLACE - NOT THIS ONE

A Very Nice Stay

It is a wonderful thing that this neoclassical building, the one-time station and offices of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, was saved from demolition and repurposed as a hotel, restaurant, and event facility. The staff is very friendly and accommodating while professional. My room was comfortable in every aspect. The dining was commendable. I would have provided an "overall rating" of 5 were it not for some needed upgrades. The facility does need some fresh paint in areas and the fitness center is in need of maintenance. Nonetheless, I like the hotel and would recommend it to others.

Staying at this hotel was really fun.

Pros: Interesting and historic environment. Spacious and confortable.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
This is a great hotel. It is situated in a former railroad station. The remodeling into a hotel is very well done with spacious rooms and a comfortable environment. Would highly recommend to others.

noise

Pros: historic
Cons: very stark. bar creepy dark. sooooooo noisy. elevator all messed up.
the elevator made so much clunking noise all night, and the trucks on the highway out our window kept us up all night. when we complained at the front desk they didn't care at all.

Not your cookie cutter hotel, but has all the modern amenities

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, fascinating historic lobby
In this day of mindless standardization, when "no surprises" has been taken to the dull extreme, the Radisson Hotel in Scranton is a standout. Its lobby with all the original marble and mosaics from the old train station is a setting of beauty and fascination. Yet our room had everything modern we could wish for--space, a great bathroom and a wonderful bed. The staff was terrific--friendly and upbeat--and the food in the restaurant was delicious and innovative. We'll definitely go back.

Great Location.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: no free breakfast
We were only in town one night. We took the Lacawana Coal Mine tour and then had planned on walking around Scranton. Unfortunately it poured down rain all day and we just spent most of the time in our room watching TV. Love the History of the building and enjoyed dinner at the Irish Pub across the street.

Our stay was brief

I would have to say the place was beautiful. Dinner at Carmen's was pricey yet delicious. I was not impressed with the sleep number bed. Too tired to figure out what number suited me and by morning my back was sore..and they charged us to park at their facility...Go figure!!!!!
