Great Boutique Hotel

Pros: The room had a lot of charm and character, but the fixtures and amenities were updated. It had an old San Francisco feel.
Cons: I would recommend they put parking information on the website. Ended up parking across the street, not knowing they have a deal with a nearby lot.
Location: It is close to everything, we went to the Museum of Modern Art, which was only about 5 minutes away by car, lots within walking distance.
Brought my daughter there for a girls trip away before sending her off to college. Hotel was clean, the front desk person, Felicia, was very friendly and the breakfast was really good. Will stay there again or recommend to a friend. A good deal for the price and within walking distance to Union Square.

It's like coming home

Pros: The overall theme of old music and movies.
Cons: Next time I would like to have a room that's not directly above the garbage bins ;)
Location: It's near union square, china town, Market st. in the middle of San Francisco. You can go almost everywhere from there.
I stayed for 7 nights in a very comfy room with a king size bed, a desk and a nice little bathroom including a shower. On the 5th night I was greeted with "Welcome home!" by the front-desk and it felt a bit like it, especially after a long day of work. The hotel staff was generally nice and very quick in making things possible. The breakfast was complimentary and basically good. Most important for me (and my work) was the WiFi, which worked really good!

Beautiful Room, Weird Customer Service (3.5 Stars)

My husband and I stayed at The Mystic for the last leg of our honeymoon. The rooms were AWESOME. Some might complain that they were small, but the decorative touches were beautiful and I didn't mind being cramped in with my newly married partner. :) There were also some delicious macaroons to welcome us and a very nice note congratualting us. We read a lot of reviews about the noise from the alley before we checked in. My husband was the one who called to confirm our reservation and forgot to tell them that we didn't want to be on the alley side of the building, so when we got there, that's exactly where we were. I didn't really think it would be that bad, seeing as how we have city noise where we live, so we decided to keep the room. Bad decision. It was just as bad as people said in previous reviews. The garbage truck came at 6am and then again at 8am. It was LOUD, even on the eighth floor with our windows shut and shades drawn. Avoid the alleyway. Before I talk about the customer service from the hotel, I would like to differentiate the people who worked in the Burritt Room, the bar/restaurant that is part of the hotel. The bartenders were fantastic and awesome people with great suggestions for us on where to go, what to eat, what to do. They were super friendly and excited to have us there from so far away. And the drinks were delicious! That being said, the front desk customer service was lacking in many ways. Every time we called, they acted confused and, dare I say it, rude. We asked for an ice bucket at the front desk before going up to our room to get ready to go out that night. The ice bucket never came. Shortly after that, we called to ask for a bottle opener, and it took 2 calls and about 15 minutes for that to come. The guy was very nice when he got there with it, but he said he couldn't find one.... There is a BAR on the 2nd floor. (?!?) Also, while we were there, my husband got a cut on his finger, so we asked the front desk if they had a band-aid. The guy, once again, acted very confused. He looked everywhere and then, after he couldn't find one, he gave us the entire (half empty) first aid kit from the kitchen. The band-aids were all gone and so was he at that point, so we ended up going across the street and buying some. I want to give this hotel more than 3 stars because of the rooms and the bar. Also, the breakfast offered (for free) in the morning is great! There were just too many weird things with the people at the front desk. A little organization would probably take them a long way... I would go back again, but I will make sure I know that I will have to fend for myself.

Sheic, wonderful location & great value

This was a wonderful  hotel with a great location. The only thing was that the room was a little small, but it was newly renovated. The hallways and elevator were a little creepy, but it had a really great 2nd floor bar with an excellent mixologist and a wonderful live bad on the weekends. They also have a tasty free continental breakfast. Great place to stay.

We loved it! Excellent location

Our second visit to this hotel because we enjoyed it the first time and we weren't disappointed this time. It's in a really great location near Union Square, Chinatown, Nike etc. Everything is in walking distance and a nice walk to cable cars on Powell Street.

I just love little boutique Hotels, This was perfect for that. A little confusing to find but all in all great!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Love the white rooms and linens!!! Nice a clean. Elevator a little funky but it was a pretty cool place and close to Union Square!

My overall experience was really great.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, small boutique hotel
The majority of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The late night manager at the bar was rude and condescending with the few of us that were there at closing time. However, with the exception of her it was a fun place to stay, and I LOVED my room!
