"hidden jewel"
Driving through the city to our hotel made us question what the hotel was going to be like, but it turned out to be absolutely wonderful! We were immediately greeted and assisted us with any questions we had. And the restaurant, Mr.Crave Bistro, next door had amazing dinners. We were sad they were closed for dinner our last day there. It was a great trip and we would love to stay at this hotel again!

"EXCELLENT hotel experience. Will repeat stay."
Valet, bell hop, front desk, housekeeping, TERRIFIC. I rarely use terrific, outstanding & all that but I have to hand it to the entire hotel crew, my stay was everything good. Room was smaller than what you would normally expect a room to be but it's the era of the building, charming & well appointed. Size didn't bother me at all; we had the 2-double bed room & I'd ask for it again because it was much nicer than most hotels I've visited. Joie de Vivre hotels are my favorite without question. If you're used to Hotel Vitale, look forward to the same quality at Galleria.

"Great hotel, friendly staff, would be back"
Being in a "ghetto" part of San Francisco (Little Saigon), I was somewhat hesitant to stay here, but I'm SO glad I did. It would only be ghetto if you were hanging out on the blocks outside your hotel, but walking the few blocks to shopping didn't make me feel even slightly unsafe. BEST pool, super warm so even with the winds of San Fran it feels good, room was very clean, beds were pretty comfy, FREE PARKING (unheard of in San Fran), and staff was VERY friendly and helpful. There was an event happening at the hotel the Saturday we were staying there. The pool was closed off and there was loud music so that was frustrating. We decided to go out instead of relax at the hotel because of this. I voiced my frustration politely to the front desk as well as the manager the next day, saying that I wished we would have been informed of the event because didn't get to relax like we had wanted and had to make other arrangements. They were VERY nice about it & said they weren't even informed of the event until the morning of and so they had no chance to warn guests, as they always do. They seemed frustrated themselves so I don't think this is a common issue. And even with us having to change our plans, I will absolutely be back. One of the most relaxing trips I have had in San Fran to date, a big thanks to this hotel!

"Great hotel, not great experience on arrival"
On arrival we had to unload a lot of bridal dresses. We had to get our own cart, when my wife asked for help the attendant replied "I'm going as fast as I can, it's not like I'm smoking a cigarette". So rude. By comparison the front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. They apologized and offered a speedy check in. The rest of our stay was excellent.

"Good rate, bad tv & wifi"
Room rates were good on travelocity. Morning buffet very overpriced. The cable TV options are horrendous and terribly outdated. Only a few Disney/Nickelodeon channels and that's it. Also the hotel wifi policy is terribly outdated. $12.99 for wifi? Almost everywhere else I've been in the city has complimentary wifi. Hotel is good rates but not recommended for extended stays or not out of your room most of the day.The gym was very nice and a surprising feature for a hotel. Great amount of equipment available.
