The hotel had a 4 star rating when in reality it should be 1 star. It was under construction, but the worst part was that the rooms did not have AC. They were very hot. I had to keep the windows (with no screens) open all night to try and stay comfortable and the street noise kept me awake most of the night. Terrible place. Never stay there!

Wow, I apologize for not only not meeting your expectations, but ruining your trip. We will finish our renovations soon, but unfortunately, they do not include adding individual AC units to our rooms. I'll do my best to look into other solutions before the next heatwave so no guest has to experience what you did.

Terrible!

The room was so smoky, that I got sick. I would not go back or recommend.

Room and cleanliness was good: False advertise

Pros: The bed was clean and comfortable
Cons: Heating, Phone service, keeping up with web advertisements
Location: San Francisco , I work out here a few days out of the week and regularly stay in hotels when out here.
4/10/2017 I had gone on a third party to book my hotel stay hours prior to actually coming in and it took 45mins to actually finish the checking in process. On this web page with the third party, it advertised that a complimentary sparkling wine bottle would come with no extra charge when booking the room. It did call my attention when booking and moved forward with the booking. I came to the room thinking it would be in the room already, nothing. I was fine with just calling the front desk for room service to ask if I was still going to receive the bottle, no answer. I gave it a few more minutes just incase they were a little busy with check-ins. The phone continued to ring with no answer. I'm not picky usually but with a stressfull I was looking forward to that bottle and relaxing. It was a rainy night as well as cold and the heater was not working, Wish front desk would've been more available to answer phones calls so that they could've helped with that too. The bed and room were comfortable, But was a cold night. If I come back I hope my stay is different. Thank You

Great location, service and overall value.

Pros: Staff, service, location, value
Cons: Based on the competitive nightly room rate, there is nothing I would change.
Location: Three blocks from the trolley line, and some of the best shopping in the world.
Staff could not have been nicer. Old world feel. If you love staying at a brand new chain hotel, may not be for you, but I love the location, and the charm. Convenient, comfortable, quaint.

LOCATION (directly behind the St. Francis???????)

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Retain the facade and remove everything behind it.
Location: In the heart of the Tenderloin the people watching is the only thing to do in order to avoid pickpockets and bums.
Single pane windows allow/amplify the noise from the street below. This is especially annoying when the 3:00 am street creatures come out to practice their music/noise. Location-location-location is the bye word here.SCARY Rooms are slightly smaller than the elevator and require one to be on the bed for the other to get around the bed.

More like a 2 star hotel

Booked on Travelocity Secret Hotels and the hotel had no record of it. I had to forward my confirmation email to the front desk to get a room. The room I got was of 2 single beds (that's all they could give me). The room itself was very small, had very thin walls, and a radiator that made sounds all night long. Definitely would not call it a 3*.
