"Nice boutique hotel walking distance from Gaslamp "
This boutique hotel has charm and great appeal. I am used to staying in luxury resorts but needed a last minute stay for NYE ans this little small gem did not disappoint. The only thing I can say was a little pricey for this small place was the parking/valet at $36 per night (yikes). However, the staff was friendly and the amenities were great! Gym/yoga studio, free wifi, 2 bottles of water per day, nice! The rooms are small but thats what you expect at a boutique hotel. The rooms were clean minus the thin layer of dust on the table and tv stand, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker. I would definitely stay here again. Oh, it's also walking distance from all the fun, bars, restaurants, and shoppes in the Gaslamp!

This hotel is right on the harbor and walking distance from the Star of India and the Midway. It was less money than other downtown hotels. The restaurant is apparently being redone, so the only place to eat in the hotel was a cafe. They did have room service, which we did not use. We did get dessert at the cafe and enjoyed it. The room was clean and comfortable. Our keys turned off before we checked out, so when we got back after walking to a nearby restaurant for breakfast, we could not get into our room. There was a hotel staff member nearby who was very helpful. she did not want to just let us into the room (good for security) so she tried calling the front desk to get confirmation. It took a long time before we were let into the room. We we checked out a little while later, we let the front desk know. It was actually a pretty big inconvenience, if we had had a plane to catch, the amount of time it took to get back in the room could have been disastrous. It would have been nice if the front desk offered some compensation. I mentioned that, and he apologized again, but did not offer anything.

"Very Happy"
Our family does not take vacations together very often. With three kids it has always been something we save for. This year our oldest turned 18 so we figured we would go to San Diego as our last big family trip. We were so pleased with everything about our stay here! The room was big enough for five people to comfortably stay and everyone remarked on how clean and well kept the hotel was. My kids loved the heated pool and I enjoyed reading in the evenings poolside and fireside at the same time. I was able to do laundry without any issues one evening too. Breakfast was good as long as we went earlier than 8:30. Our last two days we waited since we didn't have any activities early in the day and it was hard to find seating together. Parking was the only other bummer. There were some trucks that parked through multiple spots with their trailer so it made it a bit tight... then paying $18/a day for parking just made it annoying. We completely recommend this property to others.

"Hotel is two months old and has been well designed"
Experience was good though time in the hotel was limited. Disappointed when they wanted to charge $17.00 for parking when the hotel was nearly empty and parking spaces were plentiful. The staff was cordial, saw my disappointment and waived the parking fee.

"Great gaslamp location"
This place is close to everything...ball park, convention center, trolley and the gaslamp district. Fun. The decor is edgy, over function. A cool place to stay. But probably not for families. We were upsold to a suite at registration, sometimes a pain, but it was a great deal and we actually got a double upgrade for not a lot of cash. we were in a 'low' spot between the 4th and comicon, so they had some rooms to move us around to. I wouldn't expect this during conventions or when the padres play. Downside to being close to the trains and trolleys...they are noisy. Especially in the Front. They want a LOT for valet parking, but there is a self park lot around the corner for 1/3 the price. The pool is cool, but not a lot of sitting around space...unless you rent a lounge or cabana.

The front desk was helpful to when we needed more towels and a small fridge. I've never experienced going to the 12th floor just to get to the lobby and then another elevator to get to the rooms. It was really weird.

"Nice hotel, outdated but clean. "
We had a great experience overall. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly. We did not like the fact that we had to use valet service and it was an additional daily charge. The hotel is in a nice location downtown, walking distance to the harbor, seaport village and gaslamp quarter. Many restaurants close by. The daily breakfast and evening reception were a definite bonus!
