Hotel was within the proximity of the beach

Pros: It was in the area of where I needed to be for the Naval Station San Diego
Cons: Complete the refurbishing during the winter months
Location: The beach, shopping, food and Naval Station
The hotel room was very clean and pleasant inside, but the noise level from outside of the room was extremely loud and because of the refurbishing of the hotel's exterior hurt the facilities and condition rating.

not too bad!

a good priced room for the week. Was close to shopping, beaches and other activities were not too far away.

dont ruin your stay in the south bay!

dont know where to start with this place? discusting! wow stayed here 1 night because the hotel a couple buildings over was all booked up and it was late. i had my daughter with me and was put in a first floor room and the WINDOW DID NOT LOCK! the room was nasty, out of date, discusting. i set the alarm that should have been thrown away years ago and noticed it was FULL OF ROACHES! the bedding should be burned... ill stop here. Im from IB and love it! trust me dont stay at this super 8.

This is very average, but clean in the room, nice staff, a little seedy area.

Pros: close to starbucks!
This is definitely a budget hotel, but comfortable. The people on staff are pleasant and competent regarding policies. The furnishings are 70s style . The brown wool blanket on the bed is pilly (used and washed often), the towels are small, thin. The view out our room looks like a storage of old cars and RVs. It is close to I-5 and Starbucks is a block away. Yay! Will now go search for the beach!

The hotel looked different from the picture

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
The hotel looked different from the picture on the website but in all it was not too bad. We enjoyed the location because it was close to places we wanted to visit. The main concern was that although we had a non-smoking room people were allowed to smoke by the hall entrance which was next to our room.

Disappointing

Pros: Free Internet
Cons: Poor breakfast, dirty, disrepair
The exterior doors to the second floor were both damaged, so they were propped open, allowing anyone access. The door to the room was off alignment in its frame, and couldn't be dead-bolted without lifting the door almost a quarter inch. The blanket was bloodstained, the carpet smelled 'funny', and the coffee pot had the previous traveler's old grounds still in it. Because the bloodstain was not at the very top, this wasn't noticed until the second night, so house-keeping never had an opportunity to correct this. Pretty gross, though. Several light bulbs were burned out when we arrived. The staff did a good job of replacing those. The alarm clock didn't work. You could set the alarm, or the time, but if you tried to set both, the clock reset everything to midnight. The TV would randomly lose its volume, and would need to be turned off and back on to hear again. The free internet was quick when it worked, but our laptops were frequently dropped off the network. For what I paid, I expected better from the room and hotel.

would not stay here again!

get what you pay for here. room was ok. outside hotel was dirty, high traffic area.lot of street noise. we weren't in room but to sleep, maid service was good.breakfast was bad. only plus was close to a beach, and I-5, so getting to sd attractions was easy. imperial beach pier resturant was excellent, try it if staying in area! next time we will stay farther north,or coronado.

Cheap Hotel- IT SHOWS

The staff was friendly and it was on the busline. Other than that, there is nothing good here! Our room was dirty, the door was broken (NOT SAFE!!) The breakfast was terrible (very few options, NO fruit...). The area is very bad, maybe it was just the city but there were homeless people everywhere and a few of them lived RIGHT OUTSIDE our window!!! We didnt go out at night because of this. The hotel claims it is a mile from Imperial Beach. What that means is Imperial Beach CITY LINE. The actual beach is about 5 miles away. Not an easy walk in beach shoes! Spend the extra money and skip this hotel!

Stay away......

It is in a bad part of San Diego. The towels were dirty, the drawer was broken, the tub had hair in it from the last person. The room was filthy, I only stayed one night and ate the rest because it was so disgusting.
