Property is old, dingy, and had a room that faced interior shaft that brought up smell from kitchen below. not pleasant.

Hotel was a pleasant surprise. Room was small, but well maintained. Rooftop area was great for enjoying your morning coffee. The front desk staff were excellent!

2 nights with son home from college

Pros: Very convenient to restaurants and Petco - went to a Padres game in beautiful Petco park - worth the trip.
Cons: The roll out sofa was too hard to sleep on even for a college kid. Pretty lived in -- like visiting your grandparents apartment
Location: Great location for restaurants, Petco field, Horton Plaza. But be warned this is still the Gaslamp district and a bit gritty.
We knew from reviews that this was a quaint hotel, so didn't expect luxuries. But, kid was home from college and we wanted a separate bedroom. We had a huge apartment room with full kitchen (which we didn't use).

Weekend away

Pros: Staff
Cons: Windows need sealed better for noise from outside
Fun weekend in San Diego. Gaslamp area awesome for fun. Great location for all activities. Hotel Staff friendly, helpful and always smiling at guests. All requests were immediately taken care of. Some noise at night from outside clubs. Nothing that keeps you awake. Would stay again another visit

Amazing stay

Location: Horton Plaza, Petco Park, Brian's 24 (24-hour restaurant) accessible from hotel lobby and an outside entrance, Coronado Island's roughly a 15min drive
My boyfriend and I made last minute reservations for five nights. We called at about 11pm the night before checking in to see if there was any way for us to check in early, and the manager was very understanding and accommodating. Kenlen was awesome with a quick check-in, and all staff members are really friendly. The room was clean and the cleaning staff did a great job every day. The hotel has a really good location, walking distance from plenty of great things. We always managed to get street parking, so that was a plus. We loved the elevator, since it gave a classic feel, but it may frustrate others since there is a door, then a gate. Overall, I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Presidential suite

Had the best 3 night stay in the Presisdential Suite! The staff, especially MATTHEW, are all so nice! Loved the vintage feel. And Brian's next store is a long time fav spot so bonus!!!

Great stay really like the Hotel Shuttle Bus

Took the Free Hotel Airport Shuttle bus. Liked it. Great check in easy and asked for a room away from the elevators so it would be quiet. Great Location!!

Wonderful experience.

Pros: Everything. Loved the atmosphere.
Cons: Fridg in the rooms at no extra charge.
Location: Horton Plaza is near, and a fun place to shop. Loved walking to the waterfront. Endless things to do. Recommend the trolley and boat tours.
We spent a week at the hotel. Loved everything about it and the staff. We had wonderful servers and terrific food, next door. Best for us, was the fact we could walk the neighborhood, feeling safe and finding fun little restaurants. We will certainly stay again. I can't say enough about the rooftop deck.
