Bad experience

The check in was ok. Once we got to our room it smelled like old cigarettes, it was very humid. It was late at night so I just wanted to sleep. I decided to stay since we would be out all day and just stay to sleep. Getting ready was a pain...the bathroom is very small. The shower curtain kept sticking to my body, the carpet was also very dirty. I noticed when we walked barefoot on the carpet out feet was black at the bottom. So we had to to wash our feet and then put on our sandls on quick. The tv didn't work so the repair guy came and worked on the tv for 30 minutes. Book elsewhere.

If they send you in the building in back, don't go

Pros: The appearance from out front was nice. The maids were very nice.
Cons: Please check the mold and cracked stairs in back. This is an accident ready to happen.
The mold was on the staircase, and to the room, along with cracked cement on the landing and stairs, where I nearly fell. There was paint on the carpet, and mold on the air conditioner. The bathroom had mold around the tub, splattered paint in the tub. The ceiling and around the tub had paint over cracks and missing plaster. There were clean towels and sheets, but prepared for a bed like a board. The overall smell was medicinal, so they probably did clean the sinks. The toilet seat was not properly attached. The door on the safe was not there; my husband is a police officer so we heard there was a safe to keep his gun. Be prepared for lots of construction, especially early in the morning. We did not touch anything or sit down,...you had to see for yourselves. We stayed in Mission Valley hotels, many times before and this is the worse room by far. The pool looked nice and we don't know how the rooms in front were but the building out back should be looked at by the health department. When we checked out, the reception girl refused to give us a receipt. ????? That was a first!

Great value!

We paid a GREAT rate and were very happy with this hotel. Yes, it is an older facility and had dated decor and some wear and tear, but it was clean, quiet, and very conveniently located. The bed was comfortable and everything worked as it should.

Absolutely horrible

I went off the reviews on here and went for it. That was a huge mistake. The pool was filled in with dirt, we were put in a "nonsmoking room" but there was an ash tray in and it smelt like smoke. My bed had a spring sticking out of it! And the bathroom that was originally white was grey from how old and dirty it was. The AC didn't work the windows had no screens and were open when we showed up. So there were flys and other bugs flying around when we got there. I'm sad to say I paid 200 bucks for this. I would have been better off just sleeping in our car than staying there. Don't stay here you will regret it.

You get what you pay for

Cons: The wi-fi should really be upgraded as it would've improved my stay a lot.
Wanted a cheap hotel that wasn't outright disgusting or in a horrible area and I got exactly that. The room was decently sized, the bed was clean and comfortable and the area felt safe. The room was not without issues however. Floor and walls were slightly stained. One of the receptacles shorted out while using it. The TV was very old and not so good. The water pressure of the shower was terrible. The safe did not work. The light switch did not work. The Wi-fi was unreliable, incredibly slow and was unusable a lot of the time. The card key for my door stopped working halfway through my stay and I had to get a replacement.

NOT A RESORT!

Pros: Price, and the City of San Diego Police Department seemed to make frequent visits, so I felt somewhat safe in knowing that a cop was always nearby
Cons: almost everything
Location: Great things nearby...
Check-in time is a firm 3:00 PM unless you're willing to pay extra (place definitely not worth anything extra) witnessed a rat running across the courtyard. Man outside my room was wrestling with the soda pop machine to return his Nickel, Carpet extremely stained and dirty, bathroom door his the toilet when opened, shower was also stained, ice machines were not working, room had no refer or micro, curtain didn't close fully, and room had three doors.

Not the best choice

Pros: location and I will say the restaurant was good.
Cons: staff, and overall appearance
Location: it was close to a lot of things we needed to do such as the Marine base.
Started with them not having a room for us had to go into a "suite" then move the next day. The gym and pool they advertise are non-existant, the walls are paper thin lots of party people we had 2 rooms in two different buildings and it was the same at both. Bathtubs are old with peeling paint doors dont shut, just not a nice place to stay even for the money you pay.

Old Facility--needs some updating

Pros: The courtyards and restaurant were pleasant.
Cons: Rooms need updating--paint, decor...too cramped...
Location: Very close to Mission Bay---Sea World and the beach
My overall rating is quite low for this hotel. The oldness of the hotel is not the issue--it's actually quaint with its lovely courtyards and restaurant. The problem are the rooms. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke--maybe it had once been a smoking room and years ago and there's no way to get rid of the smell but it really permeated the room. The room itself was very small which is okay for one night if the price were more reasonable.

Resort? More like cheap motel

Pros: I gotta say that only its location
Cons: The place needs major renovation.
Worst place I have stayed at in a very long time including Mexican hotels. The smell of humidity was bad, the paint was chipping throughout, the tub was badly cracked, and there were ants everywhere.

Not what the pictures show

The room was not what I expected at all. There were big rats running up and down on the rails so I was scared to open my door. The shower curtain was nasty and short so when we took showers all the water hit the floor. Beds were uncomfortable. The room was so outdated even the TV looked ancient. No microwave no mini fridge. I should of went down the street to the Marriott. I will never go back. The staff was a little shady...didn't seem they wanted to be at work. Never again
