Concerned about area but was safe & accessible

Clean facility with excellent room rates

We have stayed at this La Quinta Inn on many occasions. It is an older facility but is clean and functional. This was the only time though that we had a complaint. The coffee at breakfast was undrinkable. It was as dark as tar and didn't even improve when cut with water. On the polus side, the front desk staff are great--happy, funny and welcoming.

Cons: Security.
I was awakened at 3am with strangers trying to get into my room. I was traveling alone and I was terrified. It continued off and on through early morning. At 9 am it started again-- loud insistent knocking and then banging. I was booked for 2 nights and could not stay the second night fearing for my safety. I lost my money for the second night. I called the front desk and instead of sending security they sent maintenance.

Close to airport

The staff was great! We didn't realize until it was too late to shower the following morning. The shower nozzle was broken! So we had to wait for a plummer, as there were no other rooms available to us on the 1st floor. We are blind and the only other room was on the 3rd fl and over the freeway! Also, there were torn up cigars on the bathroom floor. We didn't know what they were.

Horrible , DO NOT recommend

Pros: The staff were nice.
Cons: Everything
The first room they put me in, the door did not shut all the way. (I found out this is not a safe area). The staff were very nice and put me in another room. (Had to re-haul luggage from one to the other) That room smelled horrible. I asked if they could deodorizer the room and they said they could, so I went to dinner. When I came back, the room still stunk. (10pm) I had them refund my money and I found a new hotel. I would definitely not recommend this place. It had stains on the carpets, smelled bad, not a good area of town and not a well maintained facility.

An often visited reliable 3 star crash pad.

Pros: Clean and convenient at a reasonable price. LOVE those huge bath towels, a welcome surprise since our last stay.
Cons: Coffee in the room is about average but not nearly as good as the lobby offering.
It's nothing fancy but clean, quite and complete with huge bath towels (extra points for that). We've stayed many times for its reasonable price that's close to the airport for an early flight as we live a 3 hour drive from the airport. The staff is very pleasant and willing/eager to be helpful. Near the I-5 on/off ramp, two gas stations next door and across the street, Denny's and McDonald's within walking distance.

Avoid this hotel

Pros: location
Cons: too much to mention
I had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and tried it again. What a mistake! The staff was indifferent and rude. The room had a musky, damp smell...my guess a good place to find a lot of mold. Breakfast was terrible no selection so I had to go pay for a breakfast. I will never return

Pros: Very convenient for a short stay in Sacramento. Excellent shuttle service to Sacramento International Airport.
Cons: Hotel management needs to monitor behavior around the pool after 9:00 PM.
Location: Near Downtown Sacramento. Welcome to the traffic jam created by the arena construction!
Great location. Better monitoring of guest behavior around the pool is required. Too noisy after 9:00 PM.
