DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL

Pros: the bed
Cons: CLEANLINESS
When i arrived at the hotel the check in process was extremely slow. i would have thought they the check in staff would have a better system to check in tourist especially being that a bus full of people had arrived. My bell man was very friendly, however my bathroom was not clean to expectation. My tub was dirty and had pink and brown spots inside and on the base of the tub. My bed was nicely made, i had purchased a safe to secure my belongings. However i had no wash clothes, because they kept telling me they were out of them. The food was NOT authentic at all. It was not Jamaican flavor that I was expecting. Speaking of the food the Japanese restaurant had roaches on the wall and the Gourmet buffet had roaches near the food so that was turn off therefore i had a taxi bring me to local eateries near the hotel. Speaking of roaches i saw a more than one cockroach in the hallway. I informed public relations but all they said was " yea mon" and did not to anything about it. The check out process was brutal. My bus to bring me back the hotel had arrived and they had a problem with the credit card machine so therefore i had to go to the ATM and have to pay a $6.00 surcharge.

Family Vacation

Pros: I liked the price for the family vacation.
Cons: I would like to have the resources ready to accoomodate all its families. You request for simple items like soda, ice, towels, washclothes.
Location: I love the excursion because they were run by companies not by Bahia. Go to the Lagoon, Bob Marley, Dunn Rivers Falls and Bobsled!
I was so excited to be in Jamaica again. When we arrived we were checked in very quickly and brought to our room. However when we arrived to our room there was someone already in our room. The bellman brought us back to the front desk and gave our information to the manager. The manager booked us another room and upgraded to a nice ocean view. We immediately went to shower but the room had no was clothes. In addition the hot tub plunger was not working. I called maintenance and housekeeping. It took 3 DAYS for 2 wash clothes and they never sent anyone to see about the tub. On Vacation and not hotub. The food was ok. I am from Jamaican decent and know Jamaican food and this hotel did not serve that. The food was watered down, the jerk chicken tasted like rotessoire chicken. The buffet halls had no ice, no soda at times and even no napkins. On a few days there was a line out of the restaurant just to get in which was another 10-15 wait. The food was cold and I even saw a man using a microwave to heat his food. On more then one occasion I seen roaches walking around the restaurants making themselves at home. The restaurants that you had to are reservations for were not that great and served not even a full plate of food. I came with two children and someone within the resort stole my child's DVD movies. For a family resort and the price was okay, however I do not think that I will be staying at this hotel even again. I will also no be recommending either!

Not my favorite Jamaica Expericence

Pros: Swim up bar, Pool, Entertainment by the pool
Cons: Professionalism and customer service of the hotel staff mainly front desk, concierge and public relations reps.
Location: Margaritaville, local bars beaches
I am a frequent traveler to Jamaica so as expected naturally I'm excited to go to my favorite place. Unfortunately due to the lack of cleanliness, professionalism and lack service my trip was not the best ever. Our rooms were mosquito infested they were in the bedroom, the showers, and the toilet area. We requested several times for our room to clean and fumigated. We didn't receive wash clothes until the second day of vacation and after using them they were taken away and we never received clean ones. After going to the front desk multiple times we were told someone would bring them down and we still never received them. We also asked house keeping multiple times an the reply was "We'll see what we can do". By day four we demanded the front desk to have house keeping bring clean towels and washcloths to the front desk and we'll take our own towels to our room. Finally we received clean towels and wash clothes however by the fifth day our room was never cleaned and room service never replenished our towels. For dinner In the main dining hall me and my family had to 30 to 40 minutes to receive water and eating utensils after having to ask several severs for assistance. After that experience we complained but never received and follow-up the next day about what was done to resolve the issue. The "Free mini bar" that was included in our package was never replenished our entire stay also the refrigerator was broken.

Food was not properly cooked

Cons: make reservations for restaurant more easy to get
Location: great
Its hard to get reservations for restaurant and when we get one the fish was not cooked properly half cooked.

don't recommend this hotel

Very rude stuff, the check in process is a nightmare, the hotel promotes 5 restaurants but you are allowed to use only 3, there are not people offering you a drink at around the pool (you have to walk to the bar every time), if you want a drink be ready to wait, they wont acknowledge that you need something. They offer WIFI free at the lobby but it never works, if you need to protect your belongings, you have to pay $6 us dollars a day. (it should be free, since they think that their stuff can still something), every information they give you is different from one person to the other. only local and cheap alcohol is served and you can not ask for mixed drinks such as mojito or caipirinha( they said they don't serve that). The overall service is bad. My group of seven people don't recommend this hotel.

I had to tune out the complaints some vacationers complained about. This was absolutely the best stay ever. the staff were so attentive and hard workers! The food was so good with 6-different restaurants to choose from and snorkeling daily!!!! You will not regret

Sewage smell , bathrooms need air vent as place smells mouldy. I was at the desk making a complain about air conditioning and there were other guest making same complain. Worst 5 days ever , one evening there were no beach towel at the kids water park area I would advise anyone going there to find a better hotel

Spectacular views from room

It was everything we'd hoped for and more! Ricardo was our waiter for breakfast and lunch. He was fantastic!! Staff were super friendly. The kids club events and staff were awesome!!! Our 7 yr old couldn't wait to play with them. Lots of hugs from Victoria on the last day!! The grounds are gorgeous and very well kept. The only blip we had was our key stopped working and had to wait in big line of people checking in to get key reprogrammed.

Great hotel, needs updating.

We visited Grand Bahia in 2013 as well as 2017. It is still a great resort , but has some much needed maintenance issues. As well as some security issues. It looks like the hotel is promoting the luxury adult side and letting the Grand maintenance issues slide. We had 3 rooms, two of which smelled like sewage the entire time. One room had cooling issues and all 3 had issues with extreme shower temps fluctuations. Many tiles were missing from the pool area. There were two different parties, in the week we were there, complaining about their rooms being robbed during the day. We had no issues, but did pay extra for the safe. I have no idea if these incidents were true, only that they were reported by some very upset individuals, almost a week apart. It is still a beautiful resort. Just trying to list the concerns of this visit versus the first. We decided we would probably try a different resort when we returned again.

Too large

Room not what pd for, had to move. Shower door broken, AC didn't cool, coffee maker broken, too far to walk to the beach and entertainment spread out too far. Bad odor in hotel and elevator. Front desk Staff had no interest in helping. Dinner reservations were all booked up only the buffet available until last night. Bartenders and wait staff was fabulous.
