Exceeded expectations

Excellent in every aspect from food, service, entertainment, variety, drinks. Would highly recommend for all inclusive at reasonable price.

Great hotel

Hotel was great, clean and well mantained. Food was good except for the steak one which I think is call Tierra. The steaks were dry although I ate them medium rare. At booking I was a little heditant about the size of the hotel and how to get around based on other reviews. I did not find a problem to get around the hotel. Walking was top 7 minutes or so. Most of the people staying are returning guest. I would definitely go back.

Waited too long to return ... Amazing

Pros: The total experience .... Wow!
The Valentin Imperial Maya is an amazing resort experience with all the amenities of paradise. This is an exceptional resort that makes you regret not coming year after year. It's big but depending on the room it can feel small and intimate. We chose the Golden Swimout Room and it felt like our own island. The food and choice of menus was beyond great. The beach and the ocean water around hotel has both areas of rocks and amazing beach area with snorkeling. The fish were everywhere, simply beautiful! The resort staff was the best part of this vacation, as they were friendly, attentive, and truly enjoyed their role in creating a memorable time ... Thank you to team Valentin!!!!

Fourth stay and plan more

Pros: Beach, stuff, premises, restaurants, top shelf liquor.
Cons: Night entertainment: shows are pretty average and bands are not good. But we do not care much about all this stuff, so it was not a problem.
Location: We left this resort only once to visit a nearby town and regretted. The best what you can find is this big beautiful resort.
Although my husband and I do not like to go back to the same place multiple times this resort is an exception. Very comfortable, beautiful beach, an additional small beach with a bar where women go topless (quite different from American beaches). We also like that it is adults only and it is literally adults only! Some people comment that they do not like the required dress code but to us it's a relief not to see people in baseball hats and T-shirts at a restaurant for dinner. Food is great, a wonderful choice of fresh juices (about 10-12 types), the stuff is really friendly and makes you feel like you are being spoiled. They bring those chocolates and pastries to the room in the afternoon, a bottle of Champagne was always in the rooms, etc.

Absolutely Outstanding!!!!!!

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Was sooooo happy. Have been to other more expensive resorts because good food and great customer service is very important to me. This is now my favorite resort! Every dinner meal was outstanding, and every buffet beat others or matched much more expensive resorts. The staff was amazing, courteous, and accommodating in every way. So, not only did this resort do a great job, but in value it stands out above everyone. For the same experience I've paid 2X the room rate. All I had to ask for was extra pillows as the normal ones are a bit flat. One phone call and that was taken care of before I got back to my room. Will definitely be back here the next time I book an adults only vacation for me and my wife.

Beautiful hotel, staff was very attentive!

My husband and I joined a group of friend on their annual trip to this resort! It was amazing! The Rooms were very comfortable and the staff was very attentive. We loved the restaurants! So many choices and the food was perfect! We enjoyed French, Italian, hibachi, and Mexican. The pools were a lot of fun , clean and comfortable! There were always several chairs and floats available. The beach was serene. Crystal blue water and white sand beaches. We never had a problem finding chairs to relax in. The evenings were spent in the plaza enjoying live bands and a fun DJ! We danced until 1 am almost every night! We are looking forward to our next trip!

I'm not "privileged" enough to use cabanas

Check-in was quick but when we refused the offer to upgrade, we were sent to our rooms right away.. No welcome drinks or anything. We appreciated the staff, esp the entertainment team, they were great.. Food was just ok, no reservations needed at restaurants but no wait except for the French one, so we skipped it. Main Pool area was lively and the lazy river was quiet if you prefer to be away from the activities. We liked the live band and dancing at the plaza every night. The water was rough on the beach which was a big bummer but I tried to enjoy it nevertheless.. I've been to other places where they had cabanas and day beds for every one to use.. here I needed to be "privileged." It's not like we got the stay for cheap.. The furnitures in the room are a bit old and needs updating.. I was sick on my first night and thought it was from the guacamole I ate, my husband was fine but I was wary of the guacamole/salsa from then on.. This was an average resort, I can recommend but I know there are better resorts..

Food poisoned

First of all I did not want to write anything but I worry about what could happen to someone if I don't . It was our weekend getaway 4days our last day we went to dine to Ginger their Asian restaurant we both ate the fried rice after that we both felt vey sick that night we spent it in our bathroom it was very bad next day was our flight we checked out and just wanted to get home my wife didn't want me to argue or say anything she just wanted to leave. It's been a week and still sick even though we went to our Doctor, it's a shame that they can be so careless someone could die one day, if they are not in good health me and my wife have suffered alot we've been to many hotels in Mexico and elsewhere and never gotten sick from food poisoning someone should be reprimanded for this its just such ashame the staff treated us good but someone is not overseeing the quality and sanitary safetines of the food l will not go back .

Dear Such, We are sorry to hear about his negative culinary experience in our hotel and would have truly appreciated knowing of these inconveniences first hand ; to provide you a detailed investigation but unfortunately the situation was not reported within the resort. We would also like to inform you that Valentin Resorts works very strictly according to the latest HACCPP regulations in order to avoid any bacteria or virus within our resort. Also our hotel has a specific Health & Safety department which works in association with consultancy and an independent external company who is in charge of verifying that food has been handled, stored and cooked according to strict hygiene standards and health regulations , that our staff is well trained and finally that the food we offer is in perfect condition. Every visit has been successfully passed, for that reason the hotel has been recognized by the Check Safety First as a Cristal Regional Winner. For this month of May 2016 , between staff and guests, almost 2000 people are eating every single day in our resort. In case of food problems we would have hundreds of sick people, fortunately and thanks to the support of the Cristal program once again, it is not the case. It is very important to point out that in the spring the weather is very hot, humid, and of course in an All Inclusive property, where you have almost 10 restaurants, bars etc… You end up eating and drinking a lot more than usual. On most occasions, health issues take place while vacationing due to rich/spicy food, combination of alcohol, lots of sun, warm weather, etc...And had nothing to do with the food. We take our food hygiene extremely seriously. We can assure you that we haven’t had any reports of illness from other guests. Please accept our apologies once again for any inconvenience caused . Beautiful!

Cons: The only thing I would have loved is some Corona or Miller Lite here, the beer selection is very limited.
This was our first stay at the Valentin after staying at many hotels in Cancun. There is no comparison, this hotel was amazing! The food, staff, grounds, and room were wonderful. While other hotels serve you, this one caters to you.
