This is the first place in playa del Carmen that I’d stay at again! I’ve been to playa del Carmen many times and I always stay somewhere different. This place has an awesome location, right by fifth avenue and next door to Mamita’s beach. The beach itself at the hotel is as nice as mamitas plus many pool areas. I wish Travelocity gave me the option to do all inclusive is the only downfall I found. I would have much preferred an all inclusive option. The sushi restaurant was very good. La Cocina was delicious. The service as the beach was amazing, there’s a button to push when you want service and someone is there within less than a minute to take your order or get you drinks! Would definitely stay here again, but would want to do all inclusive.

We had the best time. Loved the Grand Hyatt. It’s an absolutely beautiful hotel. Definitely a 5 star. The service was excellent from our first encounter with Mario at the Reception desk to Gio snd Rafael who led us through the Kayaking and bike tour experiences (which are included). My partner got a massage at the Cenote Spa and was able to enjoy all the annenities - it is amazing. Beach was great but was busy on weekends and at certain times but usually didn’t have an issue finding chairs. The food was great, a bit expensive though. There are a ton of restaurants and good options close to the hotel. We didn’t realize that this hotel is right in the heart of Playa Del Carmen and within walking distance to everything. That was a huge bonus!! We did the half day tour of Tulum and it was perfect. You don’t need to do a whole day. Lots of great information and history of the Mayan people. The only downside was that the hotel wasn’t all inclusive. Found out they only offer that option at certain times of the year. Otherwise, fabulous vacation, great weather, gorgeous hotel and lots to do or not do. We needed this!! If you’re looking to go to Playa Del Carmen this is the best hotel on that strip.

We liked the property location. 5th Street was within walking distance. Our disappointment was with the front desk staff but also with Expedia.. The staff at the hotel blamed Expedia and Expedia blamed the staff but also me. They basically called me a liar! They didn't have any answer for the problems we encountered. So I was left in a foreign country to try and figure out how to salvage at least part of our vacation. If Expedia is interested in all of our problems, I would like to talk.

We had a lovely time at the Grand hyatt. The pool is literally steps from the beach so you get to enjoy both with ease. The staff were super helpful and accommodating. The dining options are great and the view of the ocean from almost everywhere in the hotel is magnificent!!!
