The bathroom in the room was not cleaned to normal holiday inn standards in my opinion

The property was a little neglected and tired looking. Someone at the front desk said in a year from now they were up for a complete renovation. It really needs it. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful and the common area was in decent shape.

They're remodeling. Almost the entire parking lot was roped off including the portico and it was pouring rain. The room smelled horrible. No emergency amenities that we needed were available. Very rough stay. Disappointed.

I stay in a lot of Holiday Inns so I was expecting this one to be similar in quality. Wrong. We stayed 2 nights, should have left after first. The bed was very uncomfortable. The furniture was nicked and dirty (chair arms). Scuff marks everywhere, just an overall unkept presentation. Low water pressure in sink. Air conditioner very loud, woke me up each time it kicked on during the night. We had to go down to front desk to get coffee packets, next day it was obvious it hadnt been replentished, no new packets or cups. The poor maid had a terrible frown on her face each time I saw her, no wonder after experiencing this place. Don't mean to imply that it wasnt clean, just unkept. On top of all that I paid $185 night, as it was college homecoming and most other places were sold out.

Adequate for our needs. No Dogs!

Pros: Friendly desk and housekeeping staff. They were very accomodating.
Cons: A few furniture and equipment items need to be replaced. The "locking" hallway exit (key entry) did not lock. Convenient, but not secure.
Location: Some nice restaurants. Some shopping in the historic downtown. Surprisingly very few river related activities. Picturesque.
The room was adequate and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accomodating with one exception. There was some conflicting information regarding bringing pets. The penalty fee of $100 was initially presented as a simple cleaning fee if pets (dogs) are brought along rather than the "penalty" fee it became when our dogs became noisy during the day in our absence. Fortunately we were able to find a local vet who made room for the little barkers (they each had their own kennel they sleep in which helped). The staff manager agreed to refund the fee we'd agreed to pay so the issue was resolved. But take fair warning. NO PETS! We were given a choice to ensure the dogs stayed quiet (which meant staying in the room instead of visiting the town as we intended) or finding another hotel - not an option on a holiday weekend. As for facilities, the fabric cover for the ironing board needed to be replaced in our room (torn) and the rolling office chair vinyl was also torn. Otherwise it was comfortable. The breakfast was good and included.

Excellent Staff

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Excellent value for the money. Nice to have included breakfast. Physical property lacks a little, but this isn't a resort. Most importantly, the staff were all courteous and helpful.
