The property was very clean upon arrival. They grounds is beautiful, very clean hotel. The staff is very rude and seem like you’re bothering them when asking for help. I stayed two nights for my daughters birthday, Friday and Saturday, and by Saturday at noon my toilet was clogged. I took my daughter and her guests down to the pool area. I asked if they could refill the towels at the pool and they lady told me they would be in shortly. Isaiah, who was the only helpful person, came shortly with a few towels. I asked him when there would be more brought in as there weren’t enough and he was very polite and apologetic and let me know that they were still drying. I spoke to him about the toilet and he let me know he would inform maintenance. He was kind enough to follow up with me and let me know that Mike, the man who was on for maintenance would be up shortly. About two hours had gone by and no one came, I inquired with Dylan about it at the front desk as we were passing by and he said that there was no notation put about my room needing maintenance and that Mike had left for the night. I asked him if he could just get the plunger for me, I am willing to do it myself, I just need it to be fixed for my daughter and her friends. He said he would have to call the maintenance man and see where it was. He was very unwelcoming and seemed unaware. I didn’t think going to get a plunger was such a bother. Before we went to bed I brought all of them down to the restroom in the lobby to u

The design and layout of property was really clean and kool. Its a little secluded and hidden from main road but that was okay.

It Got Better

Pros: Aveda products and bathroom lighting. Open plan design downstairs. Yemayá décor throughout. Free airport shuttle. Kind reception (staff).
Cons: Cleanliness of surface areas and floors. Also, I wouldn't make assumptions about patrons preferring wheelchair accessible layout plans in their rooms.
Location: I did not make use of local activities and social offerings since I was in town to visit family only.
I LOVED breakfast (ENDEARING WAITSTAFF, AMAZING CHEFS) and bar staff my final night: pristine, polite, orderly, organized. I didn't have such luck upon arrival: evening shuttle from the airport was super late despite correspondence with hotel hours before. Most days, the bar was slovenly and VERY rudely staffed. In my room there were cleanliness challenges: very long, silver, straight hairs attached to surface areas and then to my personal effects (such as towels). Maybe there's not enough vacuuming of the area rugs or Swiffering of the floors? Otherwise, I melted into the down pillows, duvets, and fresh sheets. I enjoyed the view from my room, although the curtain layers were tricky and sticky to maneuver. First day my coffee maker was disgustingly overlooked, but clean by the second. You get free WiFi, free USA Today (I prefer the New York Times), and it's nicely quiet. Note to cocktail aficionados meeting friends: even during the holiday, it's CLOSED until after 6 PM.

Sub-par hotel

My Stay: Upon arriving I was given a room-key and the front desk lady seemed pretty averse to me asking questions about the rooms. Lights in half the section of my room did not work. I complained, but their attitude was "deal with it." The "complimentary" coffee maker was not working either due to missing parts. Pros: Big rooms with a nice design. Bathrooms were very clean, although no tub. The bed was quite comfortable and large sized TV was nice. Cons: Cheap feel to everything. Poor customer service, and a sub-standard place for the price. Much better off going for a good two star hotel than paying for this.

Interesting hotel

very unique look - hardwood floors in the room which is a great idea - no yukky carpet! nice amenities. the entire hotel had a power outage at 630a and when we left at 1030a, still no ETA on when the power would be back on, no back up generator, no hot water, no apologies....very disappointing service

Not what I expected

I wanted to try something different when I went to Durham this time we are in the area a lot due to the fact we have a child in college in the city. Most of the time we stay at another hotel around the corner but we wanted to try something different bad mistake. First off we are early birds so we go out early come back earlier than most well we left the room about 7am we didn't come back till about 3pm I see housekeeping is on the floor past my room im thinking they have been in my room well to our surprise housekeeping still had not been. So we are siting in the room and about 6pm housekeeping knocks and opens the door to come in and clean that didn't sit right with me I just know I wont stay at that hotel again.

Beautiful & Clean Hotel

We were staying in Durham to see a show at the DPAC & wanted to stay someplace between Raleigh & Durham so we could go both places without having to travel too far.  The hotel is absolutely gorgeous & the rooms are nicer than anything I've ever seen for the price.  The bathrooms (with huge walk-in shower) are great & have Aveda body products. The only drawback I had (& for me it's a pretty big one) was the water in the shower wouldn't get hot.  Barely warm is the best they could do.  This was a pretty big drawback.   Even with this though, we'll be back & hope they get the hot water situation fixed for next time!

Unique Brand

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
A nice blend of boutique spa hotel, scaled down to the less-expensive style. Think Hampton Inn meets Resort Spa. But the new, unique idea was a welcoming experience. Would definitely go back!

Nice, clean, contemporary design at an affordable price.

Pros: Quiet
My family and I genuinely enjoyed our stay. The hotel is new, spotless, has contemporary decor, and all at an affordable price. We paid a little extra for breakfast for 2 adults which was well worth it. The breakfast was made to order and delicious. The staff were incredibly cordial. We highly recommend Hotel Indigo.
