The food was horrible. This is our 4 th time there it was always good. The quality of the food was horrible they have a new distributor in food the quality went down. They had half their carts running.

It took 4 days to get refill coffee in are room, we stayed in the level adult, something they were out of whiskey we were drinking. Went to main lobby had to pay for the drinks we were getting at the adults part.

Just came back from our vacation. We stayed at The Level Melia Caribe Tropical and had a great time. If you love the nature you’ll enjoy the grounds they’re gorgeous. You will like walking around, listening to the birds, seeing all the flowers and palm trees. We didn’t find any problems with food choices they have. If portions in a la carte restaurants is to small for you there is a dinner buffet choices where you can have as much food as you like. Customer service is amazing. Check in was very fast. It took 15 minutes from the moment we walked to the lobby to the time when we got our room. Everyone we met during our stay was friendly, helpful...our housekeeper, servers, bartenders... everyone. I just want to say thank you for the great vacation that we had.

Part of the hotel is being remodeled but there is plenty of activities and restaurants to have a pleasant stay. The most valuable asset of this installation is its staff.

Punta cana trip: Melia Caribe Tropical - The Level First, think of your mobile phone carrier, check if you have an international calling plan. Once you arrive to the international boarding you will need your passport many times. Arrival to DR, you will be given two forms to fill out in the plane. One is for customs and the other for immigration. Fill them out accurately to expedite the process. Keep your passport available through this process. Once you go through customs you will no longer need your passport. Arriving to Dominic Republic, leaving the airport, there will be a lot of taxi type services. You can make a reservation online or wait until you arrive. There will be approximately 20 minute ride, dependent on where you stay. Arriving at hotel resort at approx 10pm it took about 30-45 mins to check in. Once checked in we went to our room got settled in. There will be golf carts/trolly to cart you all around the resort. That night the only restaurant that was open, was the Dominican one. We decided to grab some midnight snack. Bar is also open until 2am, and beers are offered to you all day long. Make sure to check it out! If not just ask the front desk to change it. They will exchange your room with no problem. If you pay for the extras like "The Level" make sure your in a Level area and be given the proper bracelet. These extras go a long way and have many more restaurants available. Recommend the excursions, Boogie, Zip Lining, Santo Domingo history trip.

Mixed thoughts

The grounds of the Level at Meliá Caribe Tropical are very lush and beautiful. The seating and facilities around the gorgeous pools and beach are great. We didn’t get our room until very late in the day, around 5pm. This screwed up our dinner plans for the night as we wanted to get unpacked and settled in. The room itself was in need of a major renovation. The bathroom door did not shut due to poor alignment. The room wreaked of mold as the AC was unable to lower the humidity in the room. Our outdoor Bali bed included with the upgraded room was falling apart and was missing several shades. Fortunately we spent all of our time outside of the room so these issues weren’t a deal breaker. For the right price this is a great place to stay but if inline with other resorts I would stay elsewhere.

First day when I arrived to the hotel room it was so many bugs and roaches so I made a complain. They said they'll going to change the room in the very next day morning so I waited but they've never sent anyone to help me out to switch the room. So I asked them if they have anything for the mosquitos and bugs bites. they said they'll going to send me some spray but they sent me the hair spray instead. Also I asked them if there's any pharmacys near so I can buy the medicine for my 3years old Son for the mosquito bites. They told me that there's no place for me to buy the medicine nor spray but they actually had some products for the bugs in the hotels gift shop. So they finally sent me some mosquito spray and this girl name Andrea was keep calling my room, asked me to return the spray. I refused to return because my son was really suffering from the mosquitos. They sent somebody to my room at 3 o'clock in the morning nocking on my door and asking for the spray. I was really scared and paranoid because it was just only my son and I. Finally the last day I was leaving, I made a reservation for the golf cart(shuttle cart). When I checked out they never sent me the cart and we almost didn't catch the flight. I requested them several times to send me the cart but they gave me so many different excuses that somebody cancel the reservation and they don't know what happened. The first night we went to use the whirlpool tub. Someone turn all of the jets up so when we turned on the water, our room including the bed was drenched in water. We called room service three times to get new bed linen. A person came once with a blanket said he will be back. I waited two hours before I called them again to check the status. They said someone was coming. An hour later I called again got the same response and no one came so my first night we spent sleeping on f the king sized bed with one blanket. Nasty.... they like to in your room to clean the only thing isn’t that when they take your towels and wash clothes they don’t replaced them unless you ask. So info you don’t catch the maid you aren’t out of luck. The drink are extremely watered down as well and they try to get you to take a tour which only supposed to last 45 mins to get you to buy into their property however it takes three to four hours because they won’t take no for an answer. He Dominican restaurant which is why most of use go to DR was closed. Smh.
