Overall, we had an enjoyable trip. There were numerous things there that made it less enjoyable. First, our personal concierge, Kelvin, was completely deceitful. Right when we arrived he set up a meeting for the next morning to “make reservations” and “go over the premium resort amenities”. It ended up actually being a 90 minute presentation to hopefully sign on with them. He told us his job depended on it and told us we were making him look bad in front of his bosses. After, it was incredibly uncomfortable to be anywhere near him.
The entertainment, except the Michael Jackson show, was not good. Besides the French and Asian restaurants, the food was also not good. We even paid for a lobster dinner on the pier for Valentine’s Day that was incredibly unorganized and unpleasant with the staff arguing majority of our dinner right by our table. The amount of staff and outside vendors trying to sell you things while on the resort is absolutely ridiculous. It was impossible to lay on the beach or walk through the resort without being pestered on multiple occasions. There is also minimal things to do for included entertainment during the day. You can either play volleyball, lay at the beach/pools, or pay for something else. We will definitely be coming back to Punta Cana, but will be choosing another resort.
