Clean and comfortable beach resort

Pros: The layout of the adults only part of this resort was good. We were not all crammed together. The resort staff kept the beach very clean.
Cons: The food was mostly terrible. Almost every piece of meat was overcooked. Items that should have been warm at the buffet were cold, like pancakes.
This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic. We enjoyed our time here, but a few things could be improved. All in all, I think this was a nice hotel and resort for the price. We felt safe and respected. The room was clean but the bed was hard. Unfortunately, about 80% of the food was bad tasting. The French restaurant was the best by far. Because of the poor food we will not return to this resort.

Luxury Hotel on the Ocean

This was a lovely hotel with 3 high quality restaurants that required reservations. The other locations were buffet walkin ins. The food was great at all three testaurants. The staff was friendly and the room had a gorgeous Oceanview. I used the spa twice and had excellent body massage and body wrap. All in all a wonderful experience. I did ask to change rooms because I had a blocked ocean view. The hotel quickly made the change and sent someone to carry our bags and provide a new key. This is a beautiful property with gorgeous pools. We stayed in the Adult only section which was very peaceful.

Loved it, but there was a hiccup.

I went to this resort on my honeymoon and the first few days were absolutely amazing!! Then a large group of college students showed up and treated the resort as their own personal frat house. I saw woman nearly get shoved over (one was pregnant) I saw a man and his wife being harassed by two students so the man eventually got into a fight and was arrested. I am disappointed with the way the resort did not step in and tell these kids to act more humanely. They should have been tossed from the resort, people go to this place to relax and have fun. It was anything but relaxing when a couple hundred college students are running around like animals for a week. I encourage others to go here because I doubt this would ever happen again. It is just unfortunate that it happened when my wife and I were there. I feel as if I am entitled to financial restitution and hope that I am awarded that right.

The food was the best in quality, the hotel staff people were kind and helpful, they smile and always give the extra mile to give u the best experience, nice beach and wonderful enterteinment options

Great resort, close to the beach.

Pros: The hotel was quite adequate. It could use a little updating (new drapes, etc...). The cleanliness was excellent and the rooms were quite spacious.
Cons: There was a few things in our mini bar that should have been replaced and we were short a washrag and a towel on one day.
Location: The location was right on the beach with many activities available right in the hotel lobby.
We enjoyed our stay at the Barceló on Bavaro Beach. It was pure magic. We were here in the "off" season so it's wasn't crowded anywhere. The beach access is wonderful and the beach is kept impeccably clean.

I have never stayed at a better resort.

Pros: The entire staff makes this hotel. The lady who cleaned our room, Maria, was as sweet as pie.
Cons: I have no complaints at all.
Location: Location was right on the beach. We played a round of golf on the property. We were picked up at the hotel for other excursions closeby.
Staff was so pleasant. Any staff member who passed me said "Hola!!". Staff was constantly cleaning and making the resort tidy. The food was great, the pool was refreshing and I was steps from the beach. There was so much to do. I've told several people about my positive experience. The price I paid was excellent for the all-inclusive. Even competitors advised me that they could not match Expedia's price for this trip. I was completely satisfied and if I weren't trying to see more of the world, I'd go back to Barceló Bavaro Beach Resort in Punta Cana.

Golf course was the best course i have ever played, pebble beach can't match this course. Food was great and pool service was fantastic. Buffet service wasn't up to Barcelona standards. Too many server standing around doing nothing. We shouldn't have to ask for more water, plates removed ect.but everything else was fantastic. A great place to relax and enjoy the country side.

More than expected

Cons: They do an exceptional job of cleaning the seaweed that washes up on the beach, but the fact that it comes in at all is a slight annoyance.
Location: You MUST go to Coco Bongo /club in the town of Punta Cana. You can buy VIP entry at a representative of Coco Bongo at the resort with transportation
The hotel is modern and beautiful. The grounds are exceptionally kept. The staff is abundant and very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and return.

great place but, DO NOT pay for oceanfront!
