Favorite place we have stayed in Puerto Vallarta

Posted Jan 15, 2016
Pros: The beach view and the staff. Osbaldo was our waiter almost every morning. We loved the 5 star treatment of just the american breakfast each morning.
Cons: Just please up keep the hotel as it is older. Rooms were roomy though.
Location: . The Zoo, Mismaloya, Zip lines, Botanical Garden, Los Arcos, The romantic Zone the Malecon. The system is easy. Just sometimes very busy.
This Hotel is right on the beach, Only 10 minute bus ride to downtown. Plenty of cool places to check out including lots of food. We like the food vendors on the Malecon. The Taste of Italy my favorite restaurant. and inexpensive. 15 pesos for Margaritas. Now we are middle lower class americans so we feel that this hotel and location was our speed, plus all rooms are facing the beach. The Botanical Garden is just a 20 peso, 30 minute drive. Amazing! The zoo was 15 minutes away and found an amazing family restaurant called Tony's. Good Tequila tour there too. But use bug spray for the zoo and garden. Many of the people of the Hotel have been coming back for years because it is affordable. The lagoon is amazing unless it is high tide. But the few days we got to swim in it was awesome. You can just watch the fish in the clear water. Thestaff was amazing Arturo, Osbaldo and the rest. Real friendly. We were not into their buffet meals. Some stuff good others not. Their presentation was great. We have stayed in Nuevo Vallarta and felt poor. We have stayed south of the marina and it was a little too hectic on the streets and noisy. Downtown and it was noisy fun. Costa Sur was the best location for us. We hope to go back there someday. Just wish the tide was not as high.

Decent Time

Posted Nov 5, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed in Costa Sur for 2 days at the end of a week long vacation in Mexico. We came back to Puerto for the last 2 days after staying in a village in the jungle for 5 days. It was a relaxing stay since we were already pretty tired of all of our adventures in the jungle we kept it pretty relaxed in Costa Sur. We really like the employees of the restaurants and bar area they were very nice and charming. The front desk as well, the only thing I would have to say needs work would be the internet connection we could not access the web in our room on the 10th floor we had to go down to the lobby or the pool area.

Best Mexico Vacation

Posted Nov 3, 2015 on Expedia
Pros: The excellent service!
Cons: If anything.... it would be the wifi.... It was good but not exceptional.
Location: The location is on a quiet part of the beach but a very cheap taxi ride into town.
We had the best time. The people at this resort treat you like family. Very small and intimate place therefore they really cater to your needs and get to know you as a person. It's always nice that they learn what you drink after the first day! Can't wait to go back next year... Same week because we met the nicest people!

Private hotel but close to major attractions

Posted Aug 22, 2015 on Expedia
Pros: The staff, view (see photos from balcony below), proximity to romantic zone, privacy, not touristy
Cons: More servers who focused on one area (one restaurant at a time, the bar/pool area), might speed up service. Having the breakfast buffet every day
Location: This location was a quick bus ride to the romantic zone. The cab fare was also only 90 pesos if you do not want to use the bus.
We had a lovely 5 night stay at this resort. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and gay friendly. The food was better than we expected. The service could be slow at times, but the servers were covering a large area. The adult pool area was a bonus. The view was spectacular, and the bus stop was right across the street. The room was quaint. It was not perfect or new, but it was clean and the air conditioning worked well. The concierge, Eric, was particularly helpful to us. We also received great service from Alan, Alejandro, Pedro, and Moses at the restaurants. We used the laundry services, which were very affordable and fast. The breakfast buffet was amazing, but it was only available for one of the mornings that we could have breakfast there. The beach is all rocks, so make sure that you buy water shoes! We did not do the all-inclusive any of the days that we were there because we do not drink much or eat meat, and it seemed as if that was a good plan for us. The food and drinks are really inexpensive.
