Excellent location in central location

As soon as I pulled up Valet took my vehicle, then check in was very fast and friendly. The room was good size and very clean. Centralized local to the Dunkin' Donuts center and many choices of restaurants.

Wonderful Hotel

Pros: The interesting design of the building. The staff was so pleasant The location was perfect.
Cons: Nothing
Location: We were able to walk into town and drive to near by restaurants and other areas we needed.
It was one of the most lovely hotels that we have stayed in.

Don't expect much from the front desk staff

Pros: The room was clean
Cons: Educate your front desk staff! Seriously!
We arrived pretty late to the hotel but later found out that they had put " no show" on my reservation! It was the first time I had seen such a thing! On the top of that the front desk agent charged me twice for one night stay and when I called to ask them to correct the mistake, they charged me once more! It should be a very easy and straightforward process to refund a guest but not there! I spent hours speaking with them on the phone which was not pleasant!

Staff very friendly, helpful.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, comfortable bed
Cons: parking fee
From the valet to the front desk and beyond, the staff was warm, enthusiastic,. and very helpful. It's a grand old hotel with very quaint rooms that is ideally located in Providence.

The hotel was a great room for a very good price.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
This is the third time that we have stayed here and we enjoy this hotel. It is very clean and welcoming. The rooms are big and comfortable. It is very centrally located in downtown and it is easy to get to. The only downside is the restaurant. Although breakfasts are good, the dinners are not so much. The service is okay, but the food is just mediocre.

Highly recommend all around, including the nicest of staff!

We arrived late on a Friday, and spent Saturday in Newport and Sunday in Providence. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were outstanding, from the maid to the front desk staff. We received excellent tips on where to eat within walking distance, where to go. There's a very friendly atmosphere. Being summer, when you walk in you're greeted with a large urn of cold water flavored with lemons and oranges - very refreshing and welcoming. They also had cookies out several times with "eat me!" signs - they tasted like homemade. We had breakfast twice in the restaurant (vouchers) and it was tasty. (We needed every bit of our $30 vouchers and then some to cover the two of us.) All around, we give the hotel 5 stars and wish that whoever is leading the staff would come to our workplace!

Enchanted Experience at the Hotel Providence

From the moment we stepped into the elegant lobby, our experience at the Hotel Providence was magical. The room was crisp and lovely. Our room overlooked a tall-spired church -- the hourly bell, happily for us, silenced before we returned from dinner. The bed was of perfect firmness and the bedding pristine. We woke to a delicious room service breakfast -- a tiny extravagance. And the staff graciously stowed our baggage after checkout while we spent the afternoon browsing in shops, visiting the RISD Museum and dining at another terrific Providence restaurant.

Excellent alternative option for Providence

Sure there are a lot of lodging options in Providence, but I think this is one of the best. The place is very nice, the room was well appointed, and the bed was super comfortable. The property is in a great location too. If you're coming into Providence and want something a little different give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
