Everyone on the staff was amazing - Afra, William, Kissa (best smile!), Kingsley, Laris, Peter (amazing butler!), Sammy, Kwame (on the grill), Otis, Marcus (security - great!). This has to be one of the nicest properties I have ever stayed at. WOW! Simply fantastic. The grounds are beautiful. The pool and beach areas are pristine. Everything was clean. The service was impeccable. We needed to check in early and were escorted to the beach immediately as our (upgraded) room was not quite ready. We were here for our 20th Anniversary and everyone was very friendly and inviting. They thought of just about everything. Attention to detail was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this property and our visit. Thank you for making it such a memorable experience.

The staff at Sugar Beach really made our stay! They were so attentive and kind, 5 star service for sure. Big should out to our Butler Gus we was always on top of things and went the extra mile to make sure we had an amazing time!

Amazing Hotel and Experience

Cons: Our only complaint was that the spa service- massages were not that good. Wasn't the best 5 star experience.
My husband and I just returned from our anniversary trip where we split the time between here and Ladera. Do not even bother with Ladera!!! This is a 5 star service all the way. We stayed in a villa with our own private butler to help us with anything we needed and the service didn't stop there. Everyone was so nice. They offer you complimentary beverages and cold towels at the pool. Also, they had a fantastic gym and fitness classes.

Paradise in the Pitons

A very desirable location and ambiance. The staff was very nice and friendly. There was a pleasant breeze most of the time and lovely flora fauna and rainforest throughout the property. Lovely beach and 'toys' to kayak, snorkel, and hobi cat included for guest use. Excellent Snorkeling. The only disappointment was the construction noise at the beach that went on into the evening (past dark) and no live music. This will become ""The Tides at Sugar Beach"" in the future, since it is currently under renovation. This was the location of a sugar plantation, so has history and artifacts, with a 'colonial' flare. We rented a four wheel automatic drive Jeep from Drive a Matic (excellent service and vehicles, ask for (X) to get around. Soufrierre is about a 10 minute drive. To the southern airport (UVF) is about one hour. Because of the construction noise and the reports we read about the dining at this facility we didn't eat here, although we were here 11 days. We were in Sugar Mill 1 which was really comfortable and convenient, although a bit too close to the roaring vent fans that ran occassionally for the kitchen across the drive way. Shuttles on property were very dependable. Dining at any of the resort hotels is pretty outrageous pricing, I am sorry to say. Do not order any seafoof bisque at any of them. It is no more than tomato broth...no seafood content, and will cost you between $7 and $10 US.. Mango Tree is worth dining because of the setting and view and sunset. Good food. Fedo's in Soufrierre was our favorite lunch stop. Fried fish of the day meal for about $7.00 US. Stay away from Tree Top Zip Line Tours. Very bad attitudes and process. Scarey.

The best location on St. Lucia

My wife and I stayed at The Jalousie Plantation from May 21st-26th. It was our first trip to St. Lucia. We couldn't have picked a more romantic setting. The resort is situated on a small bay between the Pitons. Petite Piton rises up steeply just off the beach -- it's incredible. Not only is this the most scenic area of the island, but it's also close to many of the major attractions, such as Diamond Falls and Sulphur Springs. Castries is roughly 40 minutes away via water taxi. We stayed in an oceanview villa. The villas themselves were outdated but still clean and comfortable. Some villas are individual cottages; others consist of two joined units, though each still has a private patio with a plunge pool. If you're looking for fancy accomodations you'll be disappointed here, but the villas were perfectly acceptable and, frankly, a bit of an afterthought considering all the natural scenery. There were only two restaurants open on the resort: casual dining at The Bayside and fine dining at The Great Room. We bought an all-inclusive package, a good choice given the high prices at each. The food was good at both, but the dining experience at The Great Room was exceptional. The entire staff was very kind and helpful. For whatever we needed, they provided a prompt response. I would definitely recommend this hotel. At the airport, just about everyone we spoke with was headed to one of the three Sandals resorts on the island. I'm sure Sandals had great accomodations, but they simply can't compete with The Jalousie Plantation's location in the iconic Valley of the Pitons.

Beware!

My pedal boat ride was 90 USD. My resort fee NOT INCLUDED with all-inclusive option was 300 USD for 5 nights. Be prepared! Otherwise, great place!
