Hotel was old& dirty looking. Pool area was gross

Was just a step above a motel 6. Pool was overcrowded with individuals who were not even staying at the hotel. Screaming kids all over the place. Room was old looking , overall hotel was dirty and run down.

Meetings in Phoenix

Pros: It is a nice and relaxing setting built to conform to the hill it rests on. Nice rooms and facilities.
Cons: If you have a high numbered room, you are a good long walk back to the main part of the hotel.
Location: It is very centrally located, near the airport and interstates.
I book this hotel as part of a package by Travelocity which included Flight, Hotel, and Car. I just looked at previous rating scores by others and the price in making my decision. I was traveling for business meetings.

Hotel setting was great.

Staff was great, the hotel grounds were beautiful. However, the rooms are in need of a remodel.

Hands-down, the best Marriott I've stayed in!

Hands-down, the best Marriott I've stayed in. And I stay in a lot of them. Even though I come to Phoenix for work, it seems like a vacation to me because of the awesome hotel and the excellent staff. Be back again in July!

horrible experience

Cons: manger
I reserved this room two weeks in advance...after traveling all day we checked in only to find that our room was literally a conference room with a pull out sofa... room #4110! No Bed! Stephanie, the night manager, is one of the poorest customer relation people i have ever met in all my years of travel....she was the one that checked us in and when we returned to the front desk to complain about the room she just stood there with her arms crossed insisting that she could not do a single thing to accommodate my family. The wife was exhausted and went to the front desk and explained our situation to another employee (not even a manger)....he did not hesitate and issued us a certificate for a free night at the Fiesta Resort a few miles away. We learned that we were one of six customers that booked a room in advance only to discover upon arrival that they "oversold". This hotel has always been our favorite place to stay in Tempe several times per year but our experience with the cold hearted and zero people skills manager called Stephanie has made me bitter and i will never stay there again.

Staff was nice and mostly helpful.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
I enjoyed the location. Close to many eateries and churches and the highways. Clean room, helpful staff. Really fun pool and spa. Kids enjoyed their stay. Wished there was a free breakfast for the price. Also, a bit noisy from the highway, but turned fan on.

Big Disappointment!

Pros: Free Internet
Cons: no service, terrible food
We just returned from our stay at the Buttes and we were so disappointed. The location is nice, the view is great, and the hotel is pretty. But, the service is terrible and the food was aweful. I can't believe this is a Marriott. I have never felt the need to write a negative review until now. What is going on here?
