Quick walk to the convention center, but concerns

I had serious concerns about this hotel, although there were a couple of good points too: - It's close to the convention center -- walking distance -- which was good for a conference I attended - The shower looks like it was recently remodeled, and was very clean - The bed sheets were dirty -- lots of hair and a couple small stains -- which prompted me to call and have them all replaced (which the hotel did quickly). The bedspread/cover had lots of hair on it but I didn't ask for that to be replaced. - The AC in my room was OK, but a colleague had a lot of issues with the AC in his room. - The pool was nice. Several places to sit and a decent size pool. - The desk was dirty. Drawers for clothes were stained (something a colleague noticed in another room too). Chairs were pretty old/dirty (something the same colleague noticed in his room). - I asked for a taxi to take me to the airport -- the hotel was very happy to get someone for me, and they were waiting for me in the morning. However, the taxi was a private transport service that charged $50. - My biggest concern was that the wi-fi would barely work at all. As an IT guy, it was incredibly difficult for me to get any work done at night -- the wi-fi continuously cut out or performed poorly. All my colleagues in the hotel had the same issues. These days, wi-fi that never works is almost a dealbreaker for me. - I got charged for an additional "hotel services fee" per night for services I didn't use.

Nice hotel

Smells Like a Litter Box

Pros: Staff, Pool, Hot Tub, Lots of hot water.
Cons: Needs to be renovated
Location: Location is great for the convention center, easy short walk.
First of all the staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel has a nice pool and hot tub. Beyond that there is very little to be positive about. The Hallway smells like a litter box, probably mold, and the Frebreeze clearly sprinkled on the carpet was no match for the odor. Room Furniture looks to be bought at a hotel salvage company, old and beat up. There was a weird black bug on the pillow that kinda freaked me out, were there more?

Not the best

Would not stay again in this hotel. While I liked the set up of the suite with the bedroom set up behind the living room and the 2 tvs, the condition is poor. Things need to be updated and there is a musty smell throughout. The location is not ideal- too far from restaurants and activities to walk and traffic is heavy. The staff was friendly though.

Pros: Just walking distance to Convention Center
Cons: Friendlier, cleaner rooms, remove railing letting suite guests easier access to pool & hot tub
We stayed at this hotel 6 years ago it was nice they were friendly. This time the room was not updated. Walls dirty, did not give us enough towels one day they didn't even bring any, front desk wouldn't answer phone. When we checked out they had a service fee for each day we stayed $3.95. On top of $1500.00 for the days we stayed. Never go back would not recommend. Disappointed.

Nice hotel, walking distance to convention center

Pros: The location
Cons: Continental Breakfast
Location: There is a Denny's, walking distance to convention center, and international drive with lots to do there.
The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was very basic though with eggs, sausage, pancakes, oranges, bread, bagel, and cereal, but all I needed and was good!

Rough start, but good value

Pros: 2 queen suites available. Close to the Convention Center.
Cons: Mildew odor in hall was not the best first impression.
Location: I-Drive, and OCCC convention center was close, etc.
The experience did not start well. My reservation was lost. When that got fixed, I could still not check in early. When I came back to check in a couple hours later, my reservation had not been completed and they were out of suites by then, which was the whole reason I chose that hotel. Fortunately, they managed to find one spair available suite. It was a good thing I did not wait to attempt to check-in until after we were done with the day/evening activities. The hotel is older, and I did notice a mildew smell in the halls as well as the kitchen end of our suite. However, it was not too bad and I no longer noticed it after a minute or two. The room seemed clean and had a nice view of the pool. My hallway was quite and I did not notice neighbor noise, though the hotel appeared to be full. I had read the reviews complaining about the breakfast, so I came prepared with a back-up breakfast. However, I thought the breakfast was pretty good. Definitely one of the best free breakfasts I've had at an inexpensive hotel. So overall, I'm happy with our stay. The hotel location is closer to the South Convention center than the back-up parking lots, which was great. The staff was patient and helpful with my reservation issues. I guess I would not recommend staying there if you are super sensitive to mildew odor. If you do stay, I would recommend you confirm with the hotel that they got your reservation, if it came from any third-party reservation web site

Do NOT stay here!!!

We booked in a package & it was a "great deal"...u get what u pay for! The hotel had everything we were looking for; pool/hot tub, complimentary breakfast, complimentary shuttle to universal & was newly remodeled. We checked in w/ 2 men smoking out front, one was the driver & one was the front desk clerk, got into the room & it wreaked like mildew & the phone didn't work to notify the front desk. The man was very defensive when we asked to b moved to a different room (we could move, but would have to pay extra). Finally got another clerk to agree to a partial refund & we were OUTTA THERE!
