The receptionist upon arrival was very rude and not helpful at all. We have stayed in Kernville at various motels for many years and thought we would try the Kern Lodge this time. It was a family owned business in the past and had a very nice reputation. I must say not any more as far as we are concerned. Never again at Kern Lodge!

The room seemed to be clean enough but definitely in need of a update. the air conditioning unit was possessed. Turned on the air, it ran for a few hours then turned off by it self and then kicked on the heater, strange. Housekeeping will come in and make the beds and give you new towels but they didn't clean out the old coffee filter or dump the two trash bins in the room. Its the little things.Overall not bad 3.5. This was one of two rooms that were booked. The other room was great, it was updated, clean, and everything worked. i would definitely go back for this room. Overall a 4.5 .

Check in was smooth as always, folks in the office were super nice, one guy was in training and he was nice and welcoming as well. I will stay again.

Nice, small, quaint older inn.

Very nice cottage-like room with pine wood paneling and small kitchenette, like an old-style roadside motel. Well kept and very clean. Convenient to gas, market and brewery/restaurant (right next door.) Facilities updated with new flat-screen TV, cable and wifi internet.
