It was adequate but not more than that.

Pros: The staff (husband and wife) were very nice. It is right on Main Street, close to all the places we needed to be.
Cons: See comments in "Write about your experience" above. Most everything needed sprucing up. The lamps were three-way switches with 1 light light bulbs.
Location: We went to the Tuscany Restaurant that was just down the street. The food was very good and plentiful. Location is right on the Highway.
I had made the reservation back in late May or early June because 4 of us were attending a Convention in Paris, IL and I wanted make sure we had a non-smoking room with two queen beds. We found the room very crowded with less than 6 inches of space to walk between each bed and the wall. There were only two sets of towels and washcloths and no extra blankets or pillows. I went to get two more sets of towels and washcloths and called later for three more pillows. The staff was very nice and accommodating, however all of us are older and do not relish looking for things at 10 P.M. There were the bare minimum of amenities, no hair dryer, iron or ironing board. It did appear clean, but it needs quite a bit of updating and freshening up. The hook had been pulled off the bathroom door and the holes were still there. Maybe they are planning on replacing it at some time. The outside, too, needs sprucing up.

Meticulously Maintained Property

Pros: Friendly, courteous staff, meticulously maintained, clean rooms and appliances, very pet friendly
Cons: Ban fireworks from courtyard when guests are trying to sleep; adding fruit and/or toast & jelly to the breakfast menu & decaf coffee would be nice.
Location: Located on Hwy 1, easy to find; many historical markers throughout the area to photograph, fishing on nearby lakes, nice park nearby for picnics
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to my nonsmoking room. It actually smelled nice with no stale smoke smells or other unpleasant odors. The carpet, microwave, and refrigerator were all spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom which contained a shower (no tub). The bed linens were VERY clean and like new. The a/c worked well with low noise levels. Light breakfast consisted of mini-muffins, mini-doughnuts, make-your-own waffles, 2 sweet cereals, & regular coffee. A coffeemaker was also in my room with coffee, sugar, etc. Snack & pop machines, ice machine, local newspaper provided. I made the mistake of staying during the 4th of July weekend and sleep was difficult. Fireworks were shot off in the courtyard until well after 11pm at which time I asked the offenders to stop. Also, a firetruck parked in the lot next door had a siren malfunction & it blared for over 20 min. before police came to dismantle it. All in all, it was a very noisy stay, but I would still recommend this place for all personnel were polite and courteous and worked nonstop to maintain the property. I was quite impressed and will definitely stay here again, but NEVER on the 4th of July. One more thing...it is VERY pet friendly. Reasonable fee for my pet to stay with me, and I liked the large grassy areas where a pet can be walked. I rate it 4 stars because the breakfast could stand some improvement.

Decent Hotel

Staff was very pleasant. Room was clean and stay was quiet. Its a very old motel so do not expect the newest beds or bathroom.
