Expensive but Beautiful Posted Jul 13, 2015 on Hotels
Wonderful stay. Positive-We had a bungalow-Absolutely private and beautiful. Gorgeous views, calming and relaxing spot on the busy island of Oahu. Negative-Food was very overpriced-my wife and I left for all but two meals and headed to different parts of Oahu. We were planning on doing this anyway so that we can dive into the culture of Oahu, but there are a few times where you just want to grab a small bite and go to the beach. That small bite for two would cost 50-60 bucks. As someone who grew up in New York City, I can tell you that those prices are quite high. Also-The Luau that they have on Sunday. It was completely disorganized and consisted of a bunch of chairs set up on a lawn. First come, first serve. The staff and pamphlet told us to arrive at 5:00. We did, and it was filled already. We ended up going to Kaua'i for the next leg of our trip and my wife and I went to the Sheraton. Way more organized. I just think that for the amount of money that people spend on this hotel, it is a bit unfair to lock them out of an event like that. Especially when it is held only on Sundays. Overall, the place was great, but it wasn't worth the money. Oahu was my least favorite island of all of the islands, so I probably won't be back. But back to the positive- It truly is in a wonderful location and the grounds are gorgeous.
