Great hotel

It was very clean and the staff were great. They helped us with all our questions and did a great job making us feel like we weren't away from home. The continental breakfast had great choices every morning and tasted amazing. Thank you to the staff for a great stay!

A block from the beach.

Pros: Proximity to beach was the aspect I enjoyed the most.
Cons: Wifi connection could be better. My work establishment has a better connection
Location: Minutes from anything and everything. ABC Stores on every corner. Suit your every need.
While this hotel was not on the beach (only maybe 6 hotels are actually right on the beach), it was less than a block away. less than a 3 minute walk and you are there. My main complaint was the wifi at the hotel. The internet was way too slow and also public as well. That basically means any passerby could piggyback on the hotels free wifi, essentially reducing the available internet to paying patrons. My 4G on my phone ended up working faster than the hotel wifi. The staff was very courteous and kind and helped with any questions or concerns that arose during my visit. They offered good recommendations with places to dine, whether it was touristy or not. The facilities were mainly up to date mostly. The alarm clocks showed their age but not really being up to date with current bluetooth technology. Everything else was great. The TV was a flatscreen (granted I didn't turn it on once), bed was always made by the time I got back at night, but only complaint was the shower glass. For someone coming in for the first time, it was covered in limescale (waterspots that weren't wiped away between guest visits). Other than that, definitely a 4 out of 5.

Good location, a few not so good things

Pros: Good location; check out the Marriott right across the street; they have three nice restaurants; all pricey, but good food.
Cons: Self parking would be great; but in Waikiki I don't think there are any hotels that have it. Air conditioning unit was not good.
Location: Good location for walking to the beach and restaurants; very close to the zoo. Easy to get out of town.
This hotel is a few blocks from the beach; the partial or ocean view rooms are (in my opinion) not worth the extra money, as you have several enormous and tall hotels in front of you, and there are only portions of the ocean that you can see. Even without the hotels in front you would not see the beach as it is too far. We were on the 16th floor; there are 19 floors; maybe up higher the views would be better, if you could guarantee a high floor that would be ok. Breakfast is nice and extensive. Our room had an A/C that only cooled the room to 68 degrees, no matter what. We had them look at it, but it did not improve. The elevators (only 2) are very slow, and in the morning we waited on average 7 minutes for it to arrive. If you don't care about an ocean view from your room I suggest staying on a lower floor so you can walk down to breakfast (on 3rd floor) or the lobby. There is a cute bar off the lobby with a couple of TVs. It's very laid back and the menu is simple, but it's a nice place to meet up with friends before you go out. Happy hour wine was only $5 a glass. One difference in the king room with no view and the partial view room with two queens is that the partial view room was at least 50% larger. If you come as a couple and get the "street view" room with a king bed, it won't be a very large room, and there is only a shower, not a shower over a tub. If we go again, I will choose a lower level non view room with two queens. No self parking, only valet.

Beautiful rooms and close to beach

Troy at the front desk was very personable and a pleasure to deal with. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast outside was our favorite. Good breakfast and nice views.

Pros: Breakfast, cleanliness
Location: Close to Abc store and at the beach.
I love staying at the Hyatt Place waikiki. I was a little bit disappointed but nothing major. If you are looking for a perfect hotel, that hotel don't exist but Hyatt Place is close enough to perfect. I love their breakfast and everyone is friendly. Our flight back home was at midnight and they let us check out at 1 p.m and held our luggages until 7 pm. Like I said it's a nice hotel to stay and not far from the beach. That was our 2nd time to stay at that hotel and definitely we will go back again.
