Disappointing Experience

Pros: Very unmemorable...nothing good comes to mind...a total, "eh."
Cons: See above
Was blindsided by the $18/day amenities fee which was added to my bill. It includes such things as water available in the lobby (an ice pitcher with lemons), room safe, newspaper, and other things normally included in the room cost. Was also appalled by the $25/day parking fee. One desk clerk completely ignored me for several minutes while he worked on the printer. I stood right in front of him and HE IGNORED ME!!...nothing, not a hello or a "be with you in a minute,"...nothing. I walked away in disgust. Travelocity owes me $36 for the amenities charge since they craftily hid it the small print. They need to make it a part of the general room cost calculation. I would not have chosen that particular package if I had known about the additional cost. Shame on Travelocity.

Nice place to stay

It is close to beach and shops are around. Nice view to city and diamond head and a little ocean also but not able to see sunrise and sunset. You can hear street noise. Room was clean, friendly staff, furniture show the age. DVD and PS3 games and towels and coffee in the lobby and a shuttle to take you to just one mall which is not so far totally 28$ per day you need to pay for all. Long story short, it is a good hotel to stay.

Nice hotel and lower price.

Pros: Location beds and pillows
Cons: Lower cost, too expensive, they changed the International Market, its now just a high priced mall. The old market was way better.
Location: Went to the beach and whale watching.
The hotel was clean. The maid services were ok but they kept forgetting give clean washcloths for the soiled ones. Rooms facing the road was too noisy, pillows were to hard, and not to soft beds. It's been 20 years since I was there last time, everything is too much commercialized now. Don't think we will go back anymore.

The hotel is close to the beach and convention center. The rooms and bathroom are small, furniture a little old. In general a little run down. Clean and a decent price. The fitness area has only one machine for arms, weights and one treadmill. Elevators slow

Moderate to budget, but close to the beach

Great staff, but facilities are showing their age. But if you're in Hawaii, this is an affordable option to much more expensive hotels near Waikiki.

Pros: Location, price, cleanliness, friendly staff.
Cons: Be sure generator works if power goes out again. Customer service needs improving. Though everyone nice and friendly, they are not trained for above.
Location: Can walk to beach, restaurants, shops. Easy to catch tour buses, shuttles. Bus day tours are great, especially Pearl Harbor exhibit. Best concierges!
We were only there for 2 days on last leg of 50th anniv. trip, we flew there from Maui so we could see Pearl Harbor. First day was fine (Sat. 11-26-16). But on 2nd day (Sun.11-27-16), the power went out throughout the hotel at 7p.m. We had 8:30 dinner reservations. Husband and I are both 69 years old. Since elevator was not working, we had to walk all the way down the 7 dark flights of stairs to the lobby and caught a cab for the restaurant. When we returned later, the power was still out, and the generator was not operating properly. So Saturday night and Sunday morning, still no electricity, water, a.c., tv, etc. More stair climbing. We were scheduled to check out at 12 noon. Hotel wouldn't let us do "late checkout" so that we could go to beach before leaving for airport. We checked out at noon, they held our luggage for us, we went to beach. When we returned, power was back on, but not fully, just partial power. The staff did not seem able to handle this situation very well. We requested a complete refund of our 1-day stay and told there would be "an adjustment" and manager would decide this issue after reviewing each case individually. Because they could not print anything, we were not given our final bill. A couple next to us said when they complained that morning, they were sent to the "sister hotel" to take a shower and hotel paid for cab. We weren't given this option even though hubby also went to lobby in a.m. Disappointed!! Will not return or recommend.

Not the newest hotel in the area but pretty good

Pros: Friendliness of staff.
Cons: Update furniture and ask front desk BEFORE putting anything in room safe; there is an extra step not mentioned in the safe's printed instrutions.
Location: Great location; borders Ala Moana Shopping Center (Hawaii's largest mall) and Waikiki Beach.
We booked this hotel as part of a package deal that included round airfare, the hotel stay for 7 nights/8 days, and a rental car. It was a pretty good deal at just under $4,000. Some of the furnishings in the room seemed outdated, but we had friends staying at a different hotel in the area and found our furnishings to be no different from theirs. The bottom of the provided wardrobe (which also held the iron, ironing board, extra blanket, hangers, and the stand that holds the suitcase so you don't have to have your suitcase on the ground) had some sand at the bottom of it, but it's Hawaii (with beaches all around you, sand is to be expected). Everything else seemed to be clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The front desk staff and concierge were very friendly and knowledgeable. Be aware: parking at the hotel's parking garage is $25/day, and the corners of the parking garage are quite sharp as you go up (a smaller car might be better to better navigate this). Over all, an above average experience but not outstanding....a grade of an A- (on a scale of A+ to F).

1 week stay at Aqua Palms

Pros: The use of beach towels, the beach chairs, free movies, the free shuttle to various spots on Waikiki. FRIENDLY STAFF
Cons: Some upgrading of the property which is already underway!
Location: Ala mona shopping center with Walmart and Walgreens just 1 block from there. The shuttle will take you right there for free. Snappers has great food
We stayed one full week at the Aqua Palms in a diamond head view room with a king sized bed and sofa in the room. The room is a little dated and you could get real nit picky about things but for the cost and the size of the room we were more than pleased. Housekeeping does a great job daily straightening up the room if you like. There is a nice little table with 2 chairs to eat at, the balcony has 2 nice chairs and a little table out there to sit outside. Our diamond head view room also had views of the ocean in 2 different spots, BONUS! However the room faces Ala mona blvd.... and it is LOUD all hours of the day and night, but if you run the air conditioner on the circulating mode at night it helps drown out the sound of the traffic below. There is no hospitality room if you have a late flight, but we did get to check out at 1pm for no additional cost and they will hold your luggage until 7pm which is really nice. The front desk staff were AWESOME About giving me details on which bus # to take to get to certain destinations, ie: Diamond head, Pearl Harbor, Chinatown, etc.... You can save lots of money by just going to these places on you own instead of booking a "tour there".

Nice and clean hotel!

I spend four nights at Aqua Palms Hotel. Nice and clean hotel close to Waikiki Beach and Lagoon. Lots of shops and restaurants behind the Hilton Hotel, we found that by happy accident. Staff was friendly and helpful but parking was $ 20 a night. I would recommend this hotel to someone who's looking for a good deal and doesn't mind being off the beach. The only reason I gave 4 stars is, it's not on the beach.

I bought this hotel over four months before my stay. It was worth it, the staff are friendly and courteous.
