I booked this hotel because it was so much cheaper than the other options and honestly, it’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean, breakfast was sufficient and provided what we needed, we didn’t use any amenities such as the pool or the exercise room but they looked great, and our room was SO CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE! The lady who checked us in at 2:30 am was so helpful, she let me know an alternate route to go the next morning to our convention so we’d miss construction traffic, it was close to the beach. Super sweet little town. I have another trip next month and was looking for another Wingate and am so sad I can’t stay in one for that trip. This was my first experience with Wyngate and I wish I could stay in one everywhere if they’re all like this.

Check in was quick and the lobby was clean. When I got to my room it smelled of cigarette smoke. I immediately went back to the front desk to inform the staff. The lady said she would come back to the room with some air freshener and see what else she could do. About 30 minutes later, as promised she brought some air freshener but also moved me into a different room. The second room was much better. The hotel overall is clean and comfortable. However, there are plenty of areas where it could use some major updating. The elevators look dilapidated with cracked tiles. The bathtub has a weak, worn spot in it that is stained yellow, and the bed frame on one of the beds was bent causing the mattress to sag. The pillows were worn out and tiny. Again, it was safe, and for the most part clean, just needs updating.

The property was average. What was discouraging is that we accidentally booked the wrong date and there was no recourse to change a date. We had to pay for the correct night and the incorrectly booked night as well—we are terribly disappointed.

The bathrooms need updating. Also, I have been to this hotel a few times and the water always is low draining in the bathtubs. Pillows could be better. Overall not a bad deal for the money though.
