View from room was fantastic, everything about the room was fine, but front desk/concierge service was less than ideal. I arrived an hour before check-in time but asked anyway if room was ready or if I should take a walk and come back later--was told it would be ready shortly & to wait in lobby. Even an hour later, my room still wasn't ready (at check-in time) though others were being given keys to their rooms as I stood at the front desk waiting. It was ready 15 minutes later.
When I had a question about location of bus station, concierge (not at his desk, but wandering around chatting with other employees) had no idea of directions, just said to take a taxi (out front of hotel) and ask driver. I had to track down this info from the hotel bartender and from the WeGo bus driver. (It turned out that WeGo stopped in front of the hotel, went to the bus station as well as the VIA train station, stopped there--and all for no additional cost beyond what I'd already paid for a 48-hour WeGo bus pass. The concierge should have known all this, rather than just helping the taxi company make money by recommending unnecessary taxi rides.)
Also: It would be helpful if front desk could mention at check-in that the WeGo stopped across the street from the hotel.
The bartender, Michael, was very helpful, much more so than front desk or concierge. He went out of his way to look up information about the town and was very friendly. Not only that: he made a great martini!
