"Great staff elegant and clean hotel"
Very peaceful stay with a great nights sleep Very grateful they let me check in early as I had not slept for 24 hours and then I slept very well in a great bed in an airconditioned bedroom which was also great because it was 90 plus degrees outside.linens and towels carpet etc, clean too.

"Great location, Excellent Staff"
The Belvedere Hotel has a great location in Hell's Kitchen. When you stay here you are just a couple of blocks away from Times Square in one direction and Restaurant Row in the other direction. You also have quick access to several subway lines so getting to your plays, cutural events, museums and other sights is easy. We always upgrade to the "executive" level rooms which are very well appointed and are really quite large for a Manhattan hotel room. The hotel decor is pleasing and the rooms are always clean and include a microwave and mini refrigerator. My only real problem with the Belvedere is the condition of its elevators. We have stayed there now on three different occasions in 3 separate years and always one or more of the main elevators are out of service. When this happens, they do allow guests to access their service elevator, but in a 17 floor hotel, with small elevators, even one being out of service is a bit of an inconvenience. I could overlook this on one or maybe even two visits, but after three stays with the same problem, it appears to systemic. Would I choose another hotel for this reason alone? Maybe, maybe not, but be forewarned that you may need a bit of patience when trying to go up and down to your room.

We were greeted by a friendly staff, the doorman had great recommendations for dinner. The hotel has 3 restaurants, each has it's own character and each was excellent. The room was comfortable, clean and the staff was available to insure our stay was memorable.

"Wish I could give *more* than a 5"
Some folks don't have NYC hotel experience. We do. It is tricky to find a hotel that is not noisy, with a decently sized room and a convenient location. The NYLO has all this and more . We could access Central and Riverside Parks, museums, the wonderful, historic Beacon theatre. We saw a major rock band (Steely Dan) play there ... 3 blocks from the hotel. No problem with a Fire station being nearby ... to occasionally see big red truck 40 pull in and out. Hotel had funky, warm, friendly vibe. Staff was usually prompt and courteous. Our 12th floor room was clean, modern and perfectly quiet. Could not have been more comfortable and better pleased with our choice of the NYLO. Four thumbs up!

Very nice New York style hotel. Room was nice and clean. Staff is very friendly. It was right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. My daughter was looking into going to a college in Manhatten, because of the location, we were able to walk to the college. We were also in walking distance to Times Square, and Broadway. You won't go wrong staying at this hotel.

"Staying one night in NYC"
When we arrived we were meet with a warm greeting. We went up to the elevator for the second floor. We weren't explained we must wave our key in front of the wireless signal on the key board to get to our floor. When we arrived to our room it took us a minute to figure out how to operate the key. Again we had to wave it front of the wireless signal on the door knob. We don't get out much so it's hard to keep up with the technology. LOL. The room smell musty smell and the room was warm. It was nice and clean. I thought when I made the reservation I clicked on the King Size bed and a view. We got a queen size bed and a view of the rocks on the roof from the building next door. We didn't complain and dealt with it. I was disappointed with the accommodations. We decided not to say anything and to just enjoy ourself because we were in NYC and we were going to see Adele!! There was a refrigerator in the room but it wasn't cold. We try to put a bottle of Champagne in it but it never got cold. I had to call down to asked what their wireless code was which could of been explained. We just basically slept and got change in the room so it was fine. Check out was easy and we didn't have any problems. We had Breakfast in their restaurant which was really good. Expense but good. I understood that we got a discount through travelocity but they seem to give us the bottom of barrel and if you want more you could upgrade to a better room. I don't think I would stay there again

we liked the Gotham Hotel experience. We would recommend the room have more lights! More lamps with larger wattage bulbs. In case you drove to hotel, know there is no valet parking. This can be a huge problem getting to nearest garage in traffic. Howver it is a convenient, very easy distance to Grand Central and subways!

    NYC Hotel & Travel Guide

New York City has received some of the most touching love letters in modern history, from Billie Holiday’s ballads to E.B. White’s essays. After a visit to the bustling boroughs and local hideaways of NYC, you’ll understand why travelers and locals alike shower this city with affection like autumn leaves falling in Washington Square Park. You may pen your own note of adoration...even if you write it in the form of coffee rings on a newspaper near Bryant Park or red lipstick on a glass in a Brooklyn pub. Get ready to taste, touch, and explore the world, one neighborhood at a time—from Puerto Rican tostones in Bushwick, Brooklyn, to the festive streets of Little Italy in Manhattan. There is no end to the fabulous places to stay in New York City.

Where to Stay in New York

Whether you’re on the lookout for a whimsical view of the iconic skyline or you crave the nonstop energy of a city that never sleeps, the best hotels in NYC complement your journey with exquisite amenities and convenient locations. Consider these traveler favorites as you plan your grand getaway:

    • New York Hilton Midtown or DoubleTree by Hilton Metropolitan - New York City: When you think of NYC, does an inner orchestra strike up a medley of show tunes as you stand in the middle of the glowing lights of Times Square? Then plan your stay around Midtown, Manhattan. The neighborhood is an embarrassment of cultural riches—the Museum of Modern Art, Times Square, and world-renowned theaters. Treat yourself to an in-suite spa treatment and room service with a covet-worthy view after a long day at either of these accommodations at the end of the day.
    • Hudson New York, Central Park: If sidewalk chalk murals and poems scribbled on paper doilies are your idea of high art, then explore the Upper West Side and stay at Hudson New York, Central Park. Wake up to a park view and sunbathe in Sheep Meadow or rub elbows with the next generation of best-sellers scratching away on their novels in the Hungarian Pastry Shop.

    Best Neighborhoods for Luxury Hotels

Just like the neighborhoods in which you find them, New York City hotels are never lacking in character and sophistication. Lap up the luxury like a fine tomato bisque in these neighborhoods, where you’ll be surrounded with opulence, inside and outside your accommodation:

    • The Upper East Side: It may not be sprinkled with iconic landmarks, but this neighborhood is synonymous with refinement. Escape from the excitement of the city to warmly lit art galleries and relax in a gorgeous, uniquely decorated room at The Mark.
    • Brooklyn: Across the East River, we can’t forget the borough that constantly combines avant-garde artistry with historic chic. Williamsburg, in particular, has become one of the most coveted places to rent a room in New York City.
    • Midtown East: Sitting pretty alongside the glitz of Broadway and Times Square, Midtown East will inspire your nostalgia with the stained glass of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the art deco details of The Roosevelt Hotel, New York City. Join a game of billiards with fellow travelers or sidle up to the vintage bar for a gin and tonic.

    Experiences You Cannot Be Denied

    • The Strand: Embarking on a literary pilgrimage? Tuck into your dog-eared copy of “Howl” at a corner cafe in Greenwich Village and wander aimlessly through this bookstore. Speaking of books, book cheap hotels in New York with Travelocity and continue the quest.
    • Hell’s Kitchen: Broadway stars aren’t the only ones lighting up NYC. There are a few Michelin stars to be found in the restaurants that fill New York with flavor. Stay in the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen and be dazzled by award-winning dishes.
    • Empire State Building: In New York, everyone’s a romantic. Whether you’re planning a rendezvous or a moment of reflection, the observation deck atop the Empire State Building has witnessed many of both. Make your way to the top, and book a hotel room with a balcony to prolong the otherworldly view.
