Thin walls!

Pros: Vintage look with a cozy feeling New York room.
Cons: They need to explain the daily resort fee. No coffee in the room and you have to buy coffee in the lobby. Late night cleaning crew could be quieter.
Location: 10 blocks north, Broadway and Times square. 1 block south, Penn Station. New York's biggest transportation hub. A mile to the west, you are at Javit's
Overall a good stay. Friendly staff and cleaning crew. The old walls and doors are paper thin so be prepared to hear the neighbors door open and close. Great central location. 100 steps away from trains and subway!

Watch out for "facilities fee."

I was a little surprised upon check-in that there is an additional $30 "facilities fee" that I had to pay. I booked with a credit card and the total included the state and city taxes, so I really think this extra fee should have been disclosed at that time. I found the hotel through TripAdvisor and booked through Travelocity because your price for this hotel was the lowest. Was it, though?

Great Proximity

Pros: Very quiet for sleeping and we were on the 31st floor and the neighbors were quiet too. Enjoyed appetizers with our free drink vouchers.
Cons: Not much, everything worked well.
Location: Theater District, The Highline, Times Square, Penn Station.
Great place to stay as it was close to the Theater District, short walk to Times Square, and Penn Station to access Amtrack which is the transportation we used to go in and out of the city.

Very nice view

This was a great experience for my family and I. I would stay there again for my vacation. Although, the bathroom could have a lot more space for personal items.

Loved the location!

Pros: Hotel staff was very friendly. I loved the fact you could not go near the elevators without showing your room key to the staff.
Cons: The windows are older so cold air was seeping through; the bathroom, no storage, and we had little water pressure.
We were a block away from Pen Station, Madison Square Gardens, tons of shopping. The hotel is next to the blue line and a block or two away from the red line, so it made it easy to hop on and go to Central Park or down to the Brooklyn Bridge, you name it. We happened to be on the 40th floor and a corner room, so we had terrific views of the city.

Art Deco Hotel Close to MSG- Buyer Beware!

Pros: The building itself was an incredible example of a stately Art Deco from the 1920s. It was being maintained and really a classy place.
Cons: If they are going to charge mandatory fees, then these should be included in the upfront fees paid to Travelocity or it is false advertising of costs.
Location: The location is at Penn Station, which gets you to anywhere in the city. It is a short walk to Madison Square Garden, and a long one to Times Square.
The booking on Travelocity was entirely misleading as there was a Mandatory fee for things we did not use (exercise room, business room, and wifi) that increased the cost by thirty percent. This is a very serious problem that could really break the budget of those on a tight budget. This was OK for us now, but would not have been OK a few years ago. I don't think any hotel with pre-paid bookings on Travelocity should be allowed to do this when people arrive. The building is magnificent and well-maintained. However, it was truly like going back to the 1920s where only men were allowed working roles that had any power, and the women were all cleaning the rooms behind the scenes. In fact, even the males seemed to be sorted by race in terms of the power structure. This was a bit disconcerting to me. The room was of a proper size for that period, and we were not expecting anything more. It may have been better to move the bed and dresser to give the room better flow, as it was tight. Our room was directly above nightly jackhammers in the streets, which didn't help with the "room comfort" rating. I am sure this will go away and others will enjoy their stay more. On the upside, we really didn't spend any time in the room except for a few hours of sleep because it was close to many other things, including a quick subway hop to Central Park, and the Guggenheim.

Nice hotel close to tourist spots

Pros: Location and two bathrooms!
Cons: Carpets in the room could be updated
Location: Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Penn Station. Plenty of food spots to choose from. Shopping, Macy's down the street!
Nice enough hotel close to Madison Square Garden and walking distance to Times Square. View was only downfall as it was to another building. Overall a good hotel to stay in. Was in a regular double bed room. Loved that the room had two full bathrooms. There was 4 of us in the room so two bathrooms was great!! Wasn't the biggest bathrooms but big enough. We outdoor stay here again and recommend this hotel for sure!

Pros: Good location
Cons: Bigger bathrooms!
The room was small but clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was one of the smallest I have ever had. The staff was "nice" and answered questions but I never felt they went out of their way to offer other suggestions or be helpful.

Good location, and that's about it...

Cons: Some amenities in the room-- fridge, microwave, coffee.
I was tired and sick for most of the trip, so take this with a grain of salt. Lots of construction. There was an additional fee of about $30/day for "facility access" that was sprung on us at the last minute.
