very conveniente!!!!

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: no breakfast
my girls LOVED the staff, they specially liked Ann, the concierge who was very helpful and knowlegeable and super friendly (definately a peoples person), they liked her so much they wanted to go to Jerrys, at Grand Central Station to get her a slice of carrot cake. Teela at the front office was very sweet and helpfull as well, we had our Broadway tickets on email and she offer to print them for us (definately she went out of her way to help) after a missundersating about the time we were leaving on Sunday, Teela called me while I was out touring and told me not to worry that they wouldnt charge me extra, eventhough I had left my bags in the room... Thank you East Gate Tower, it was my pleasure staying with you guys!!!!!!!!!

Kudos to the staff! We have stayed at this hotel at various times over the past four years. Staff has been wonderful, accommodations great. We highly recommend them to friends when asked about our vacation experience.

Very Comfortable and worth the price

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Everyone was helpful . I needed a later check out and they were very helpful to accomodate me. When I checked in it was early and they gave me access to a bathroom to freshen up and did all thjey could to get me in a room as soon as they could. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very big room . Lots of space to move around.

Good value in Midtown; close to Grand Central Station & Quiet

We stayed 8 nights in this Midtown hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was kept very clean. The decor for both the room and the hotel itself were dated (although the beds were quite comfy). The kitchenette was little more than a small refrigerator (with practically no room for frozen food), a small microwave, and a small oven/burner. There were practically no dishes to actually cook / serve anything. Nevertheless, it was nice to be able to eat leftovers in the room and cool some drinks and other items in the fridge. The best feature of the hotel was its location -- only a 5 minute walk to Grand Central Station and it was quiet.

Great location, plenty of space!!!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
We were so happy that we chose this hotel! I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews about the outdated decor, but we were thrilled when we arrived... it truly felt like a home away from home! Ann, the concierge, was soo helpful with restaurant suggestions, and advice about getting around town. We WILL go to NY again, and we plan to stay at Eastgate Tower again!!! Such/ a wonderful experience!

Geographically very well located

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
The hotel is not fancy but the rooms are spacious with kitchenettes and in room living rooms, great for families. Location is great to all major attractions and four blocks from Grand Central station which links to the subway to get any where else you may want to go. Great value for money, safe area, and staff are always easy to get hold of.

Worst stay in NYC ever

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy
My husband and I syayed at The East Tower Hotel last week and it was horrible. My husband I take a week long, annual trip to NYC and usually stay at Affinia hotels because the Kitchenette makes it seem more like and apartment than a hotel. This hotel was on Affinia's website so I booked it. The day we checked in we were told that this is not an Affinia hotel but is managed by Affinia. When we entered the room it was surprisingly dated. The sofa smelled awful, the shower had small hairs all over the floor and the toilet seat backspash had urine on it. Thankfully I always travel with lysol and I cleaned up everything I saw. When we went to bed I realized that it did not have a comforter on it. I assumed it was an oversight so I contacted the frontdesk to request a comforter. I was told by the very curt woman who answered that the hotel has NO comforters. No comforters??? All we had was 2 sheets witha ratty blanket in between. I was livid but decided to not let it ruin our trip. Once we showered and got into bed we were taken aback by the smell of the bed and pillows. At this point I called Affinia to complain. Within 15 minutes the manager called to "upgrade" our room and brought us a comforter. The new room was just as dirty, the tv in the bedroom didn't work and the couch, bed and pillows smelled. I felt terrible for being the one who booked this horrible hotel.

Very Comfortable

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
We enjoyed our experience at the East Gate Hotel, the room was great for kids, a very roomy lounge. Close to Grand Central 5 min walk & about 15 min walk to time square. Restrants & grocery shops within a couple of blocks, very handy. Not the most modern of hotels but great value.

Great location and excellent value

Pros: Quiet
The Eastgate is located midtown east, making it a great starting point to see many of the major attractions in NYC, most within walking distance. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The restuarant was undergoing renovation which was a bit of a bummer as we would have liked to try it. Overall we had a great experience and the price was right for a Manhattan hotel!!
