New yuck city

Do I start with the staff that barely spoke English? The fact that people live at this place ? The bars on our windows ? Or that our entir floor smelled like drugs !! And there wasn't a cop or security guard called.

Worth the price!

Location: Location is perfect, 2 blocks away from Central park. There is Chinese food (good priced) and other places to eat in the area. Most deliver!
Firstly, I got this room at 85 dollars for the night (on a sunday.) It was the last room available, and it was a smoking room. For a smoking room, the room smelled great. There was no noise at all, and I don't think I had a trouble with smell for the entire night. The staff was friendly, and they gave me a courteous wake up call in the afternoon. I would go again if I need to get away from family for a night.

Rust!

There was rust on the fixtures in the bathroom, mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the white bath tub was black on the bottom. The shades on the lamps were broken and looked scortched. We switched rooms and the second room was no better. The place just looked like no one cares at all. If I had paid 50 a night, that would be one thing, but we paid too much for the condition it was in. Never again will I stay here!

Tired old hotel in a great location.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Cleaning. Upgrade the two elevators that work. Get the other two elevators (that don't work) working. Staff follow through on guest requests.
Location: Was it Huey Lewis that said, "...a half a million things, all at a quarter to three." The upper west side is the more quiet, sane part of Manhattan.
This hotel is a tired old dog with the good fortune to be in a great location--about 100' off Broadway in Manhattan's upper west side. On the positive side, we found clean sheets, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and a bathroom that functioned. But it's a shame a company with as much hotel management experience as Days Inn can't figure out how to do basic cleaning and maintenance of a hotel. Slow--I mean really slow--elevators, dirty carpet, generally run down. On the other hand, the price was right. (Let's see, ya get what ya pay for?) When I'm in New York, a place to shower and sleep is about all a hotel room does for me. So this did the job just fine. If you want Marriott quality, the Marquis Marriott is a subway ride down Broadway. At about about 2-3 times the price.

Don't think I'd go back

Good location, close parking. Went up to the room on 8th floor and the room was stiflingly hot. Had to turn on the AC for awhile to fix that. There was a 1/2 eaten sandwich and salad sitting on the desk when I walked in. I imidiately called down to see if the room had been cleaned. The front desk told me the room was cleaned, I was on a schedule so I couldn't wait around but requested that the room be cleaned again while I was out. They said they would have it taken care of. I returned around 11pm and nothing had been touched. I was tired so i just went to bed rather than be inconvenienced.

1st and last time at a Days Inn

Cons: The elevators, the staff, the hallways very hot and scary, the tv and cable. Felt more like a low class hotel in a higher end neighborhood.
Very deceiving pictures and amenities. WI-FI sucked, rooms didn't look anything like the pictures, 1 sheet 1 blanket, old tv 1/2 the channels didn't work. It was clean looking. Very small, and creepy hallways and elevators. Staff, ignored you, person are help desk was rude. Very confined spaces, hallways, elevators and rooms. Spend the few $ more for a better hotel.

SCARY!!!!!

Stayed in this hotel one night due to its location and price we were arriving late and would be gone by 4 am to go to a live show taping so I wasn't being very picky but I must say the place was a little creepy the elevator sounded like it was gonna break any second and the other one was already broken. The hotel room doors had peep holes that you could see in as well as out we blocked ours with tissue paper while in the room also the doors seemed to not even close to well like they had been broken open in the past very creepy and u safe feeling in this paticular hotel I will never stay or recommend it no matter what the price. On a good note the staff was quite nice it's just the hotel itself that is so run down even our room phone wouldn't call the front desk and the bathroom door didn't shut all the way you def get what you pay for in this place but paying 245 for one night I at the least expect people not to be able to look into my room while dressing
