Very dissapointing stay

Horrible bathroom space, with a column 6 inches in front of the toilet!!! had to sit sideways. Water temperature was inconsistent, jumping to very hot at any given time. Have stayed ther before and it was better, but this time was as dissapointing as it gets.

Great place to stay.

Location is a block from Times Square. Staff was very friendly from the start. My biggest recommendation: stay in the largest deluxe room. I reserved a superior room with a king size bed which I thought was biggest room... not so much. The room was barely larger than the bed itself, but clean. Just enough room to walk around it. The staff member Bobby is great and he was able to get us into the deluxe room for the following two nights. The deluxe room with a single king size bed was extremely comfortable. My family and I will definitely stay there again.

Location, location, location!

Pros: Location and friendly staff. Clean room, refrigerator available.
Cons: The bed was very hard this stay.
Location: Restaurants and pharmacy within an easy walk, subway just doors away. Lots of shows close by.
I have stayed at this hotel several times, and am always satisfied. The rooms are small but clean. The staff are very friendly and competent. The location is excellent, a few blocks from Times Square. The price is competitive as well.

Great location, nice staff

Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness
Cons: rooms are very tight
Location: Times square, subway access, restaurants
All employees were helpful and polite. Everything was very clean, beds soft and comfortable. The rooms were significantly smaller and cramped than the photos indicated. Don't get me wrong, it was not a bad room, but I'm glad I'm not claustrophobic. The hotel is in a great location - a few blocks from Times Square, one block from subway, a few blocks from Central Park. Very walkable.

A great place to stay

Pros: Staff! Beds!
Cons: Poor lighting in bathroom and no counter space in bathroom.
Location: Fantastic, Rockefeller Center, Broadway, Times Square, Subway, food, CBS Studio.
The hotel was in a great location! Near the subway and across from the Gershwin theater where we saw Wicked. Two blocks from where David Letterman does his show, time square around the corner and a few blocks from Rockefeller Center. Near to a lot of great restaurants. The staff was great. The beds were very comfortable. Only coffee for breakfast. The pay option for breakfast was very overpriced for what you receive. My reasons for not giving this room all 5 stars: Not a lot of space for your luggage, the bathrooms were poorly lit(couldn't see to put on my make-up) and no counter space in the bathroom.

They Nickel and Dime you ! Abusive way to do business! Since when does a hotel start charging you for internet? No complimentary nothing. They don't appreciate your business. I needed a toothbrush and mouthwash and not even that- they could provide. Also as soon as we got there, they handed us a liability waiver excusing them from room theft expecting that you don't know better and you will just sign it like a good sheep. Really presumptuous. Thats telling you to your face, WE DON'T RESPECT YOU!

Low price isn't everything

Good location close to theaters and Times Square, but this old hotel has seen better days. The tiny room had a new bathroom, but that was the only modern touch. My curtains did not close. The second evening I returned to my room to find the door ajar. Nothing missing. Bathroom shelf not cleaned.

Low price, but

Amsterdam Court is popular with Europeans apparently looking for a bargain. Room was tiny, which I knew,  with an updated bathroom. One curtain was falling off the rod, making privacy questionable. The shutters took care of that but I was still nervous on the 2nd floor alone. The second evening when I came back to my room, I found the door ajar. Nothing was missing, however, so I didn't ask to move. The cleaners must have left it that way but had omitted cleaning the bathroom's glass shelf. When I checked out the next morning, the desk clerk said they would mention it to the cleaning staff.

Great value and awesome location!

I am so glad I found Amsterdam Court. It's a five minute walk from the Blue and Red line. You can take the train from JFK. Short walk to great restaurants. So close to theaters that I saw a show every night! Friendly staff too. The room was small, but I was out most of the time! Will stay again.

Best service I've ever had!

The Amsterdam Court Hotel is fantastically located between the park and Time Square (only minutes by foot). But the location is not what I want to RAVE about... their staff is fantastic! Vana is the most fabulous person we have ever met. She helped us with every aspect of our weekend in New York and made it unforgettable. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting NYC.
