Trendy, "it" hotel in a great location

Friendly and helpful staff dedicated to customer service. When our hair dryer didn't work they were apologetic and replaced it straight away. Similarly, after checking out we thought we had left something in the room and they went out of their way to look for it and ask housekeeping and security.
Definitely lives up to its reputation of being cool, trendy and kind of "hipster". Always a buzz of "cool kids" in the lobby. However, this became quite annoying as although we were guests at the hotel there was no where for us to actually sit in the lobby. Despite there being plenty of seats they were all taken up by "hipsters" on their laptops or phones, almost "posing" because it is the "it"-place to be. Getting back after a long day, or coming to collect our bags after checking out, there was quite literally no where for us to sit. Additionally, because we chose a "mini" room, there were no chairs or places to sit in our room, so if we wanted to relax in the hotel we had to use the lobby, yet it seemed that wasn't available to us, either.
This was our only qualm as otherwise our room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Again, very helpful and friendly staff. We loved the independent coffee shop attached to the hotel where we could get coffee to-go and bring it back to the room in the morning.
Great central location close to the Flat-Iron District, and not too far to walk to Chelsea. Cool shops, restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and close subway links.

Thank you so much for your awesome review. It’s wonderful to read that you enjoyed your stay, that the location of the hotel worked well for you, and especially that you loved our staff. Friendly, helpful and dedicated is such a wonderful way to be described and we’ve shared your compliment with our entire team. We can certainly agree that Stumptown Coffee is the best way to start the day. In terms of your frustration with finding a seat in the lobby, we completely understand. Please know that as a hotel guest you do get priority seating and the front desk is always happy to assist you. We apologize if this was not made clear to you at check-in. We hope that you will come back and stay with us again soon.
