Not disappointed!

Pros: Location and amenities
Cons: Update photo of courtyard with new fountain
Location: We were about 4 blocks from Bourbon Street but our hotel was quiet refuge. We were about two blocks from Ramparts Street and the Basin Street Hop.
Overall, the Maison Du Puy(pwee) was a great place to stay. The staff was courteous, the room was clean, the grounds were well taken care of, and the restaurant was very good. We were about 4 blocks from Bourbon Street but our hotel was quiet refuge. We were about two blocks from Ramparts Street and the Basin Street Hop on Hop off bus. The hotel hosted two weddings while we were there and we enjoyed the celebration from our balcony king deluxe room. We have no complaints. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Missing the southern charm promised

While the hotel is beautiful upon first look, it's age and faults become clear quickly after check in. The room was clean but showed clear signs of age. The fixtures in the bathroom were rusty, the shower itself was borderline unacceptable (I would never take a bath), and there were too many inconsistencies. In my first room, the shower sprayed water everywhere, reaching the toilet and the vanity. We were able to get a room change the next day. Unfortunately, our next room had a similar issue and had no fridge or bath robes which were in the other room. The staff at the front desk are extremely friendly and great at their job, but I found the cleaning staff and grounds crew rude, disrespectful, and unfriendly (so much for southern hospitality). We got a hard knock on the door every morning at 8 AM by housekeeping when we repeatedly asked for them to wait until later in the day to clean the room which was met with a nasty response. The pool and courtyard are this hotels only saving grace... which was closed the last two days we stayed there (this, of course, was not told to us until we waltzed down towards the pool bathingsuits on and were met with caution tape). So while the location is wonderful, i would not recommend staying here. It was not the cute southern charm hotel it advertises itself as, just a worn hotel with nasty employees.

Lovely hotel, wonderful location

Pros: The location was very convenient.
We had a wonderful experience staying at this lovely French Quarter hotel. It is clean and well maintained with wonderful amenities including a heated pool in the courtyard. The location is perfect. Close enough to walk to all there is to do in the French Quarter and beyond. But when it comes time to call it a night, the location a few blocks from Bourbon street means you will be sleeping soundly while visitors in hotels closer to the center might not be so lucky. We left on a Friday, which meant we sadly missed out on the crawfish boil being held that afternoon in the courtyard.

Comfortable and charming

Pros: Location and charm
Cons: Nothing
Location: We walked everywhere. Close to Jackson Square, the French Market, Bourbon Street, Canal Street. A short walk to trolley to ride to WWII Museum.
Close to all French Quarter activities. Clean and comfortable room. Charming courtyard and excellent restaurant for breakfast. Staff accommodating.

Quiet budget retreat in the French Quarter

Pros: Great staff and service, quiet retreat from busy Bourbon Street, nice pool area, restaurant and bar downstairs
Cons: The housekeeping knocked on our doors pretty early on our check out morning. We felt a bit rushed.
Location: Bourbon Street a few blocks away, Jackson Sq and French Market a skip away. Honestly, if you're willing to walk, most attractions are quite close.
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Maison Dupuy. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, and even gave us an upgrade during our stay there to a room with a balcony. It was definitely one of the highlights - to sit out in the sun with room service breakfast and the New Orleans sun on our backs. Would definitely come back again!

Nice hotel and good location

Pros: All of the staff were very helpful and nice and that was huge to me.
Cons: I'd like to see more regular foods on the menu for those of us that are allergic to seafood and can't have spicy foods. More than a burger/sandwich
Location: Very close to Bourbon St and not far from the river front and Cafe DuMonde
This was a very nice older hotel and I appreciated the proximity to the French Quarter areas along the river. All of the staff were very helpful and nice and that was huge to me.
