Very nice hotel in the French quarter

Great service. Everybody is super friendly. The bar/carousel is always busy with awesome entertainment at night still the rooms are nice and quite.Right in the French quarter so everything is walking distance. The only negative side would be the food. Very very disappointing and totally overpriced

We loved New Orleans. And our Hotel.

Pros: That bar. Those black out curtains.
Cons: So Loud!
Could use some more sound proofing. And we wish it was easier for residents to get a seat at the carousel bar.

So glad we chose Hotel Monteleone

Pros: Location, amenities, beds, restaurant, carousel bar, displays of literary figures who visited hotel, staff, cleanliness, and did I say location?!
Location: Restaurants, shopping, jazz on Frenchmen and Bourbon St.(if you are so inclined), proximity to important buildings, the WWII Museum, the riverfront.
Perfect location for a hotel with a legacy of history and elegance, yet comfortable and accessible. You knew you in a piece of New Orleans' history, yet up-to-date with every amenity we wanted and more. Our backside room had no street view, but one of rooftops and the Mississippi River which was even better. Great shower, good beds, wonderful breakfast at a decent price, and friendly and helpful staff. Also enjoyed the Carousel Bar with jazz. In a city that is largely walkable, you could go out the front door and go in any direction to find restaurants, museums, music, shopping, buildings of historical significance and more. Would not want to stay elsewhere.

Weekend Getaway

Pros: Great historic hotel.
Cons: Carpet in the hallways is a little worn. Tony bathroom.
Location: The say that "The French Quarter begins in the lobby of the Hotel Monteleone". That doesn't seem like much of stretch to me.
This hotel is a classic. That being said, it had the smallest bathroom of any hotel that I have experienced. The room was fine and the a/c worked well. Bed was a little soft for me. Room on the 12th floor overlooking a side street was extremely quiet. Easy access to the Carousel Bar in the lobby is great!

Not Worth the cost!

Pros: People.
Cons: Management attitude toward it's customers, especially with pain management problems.
Location: You're in the Quarter!
If you want to blow lot's of money on something not worth it then the Monteleone is for you. I don't know where to start. I had a handicap room that was so small they had to remove a chair so I could get a wheel chair in the room and it was still crowded! But let's back up to the beginning, you better be sure you want to stay there the second you book because your money is gone. I booked on Friday, hurt my back on Saturday and called Travelocity to cancel the booking. Travelocity was very helpfull, but the hotel said you lose one night booking. Okay then can I move the booking I just made 24 hours ago? Answer, you lose one night's booking! They are only interested in your money. You want to park your car? It is $45 a night at the Monteleone. The only thing they have going for them are the people are very nice as was everyone in the whole city! It's a nice hotel, but you can do much better for the money. N. O. is full of interesting lovely old hotels and great ones like the Waldorf Astoria if you want real class. Sorry I went , I should have just paid the penalty and staid home!

Pros: Location in the Quarter.
Cons: Suggest that someone with authority contact each new guest to be be sure that everything was satisfactory.
Our very small uncomfortable room was next to the employee elevator witch began it's constant noisy runs at 6:00 a.m.

Nice hotel a block off Bourbon Street

Pros: Great location and was very well decorated and clean.
Cons: Nothing
Location: One block off Bourbon Street, yet still in the middle of everything.
The hotel was very neat and clean and had an older feel to it, so it was a great experience. The staff was great and did an exceptional job with the huge crowds during Mardi Gras.

Great Hotel

Location is hard to beat. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. My daughter and I were visiting Tulane university as a possible choice for her education. Staying at the Monteleone was a very positive part of our experience, close enough to Bourbon street and many great eating opportunities was a big plus. Would highly recommend Hotel Monteleone. DP

Early Check-in-Super customer service

Pros: The location and decor of the hotel was very appealing.
Cons: The views...don't know what can be done about that.
Location: There are many restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
I arrived at 10 A.M. from a cruise. I called the front desk and asked if there was early check-in. To my surprise, there was a resounding, "We are ready for you!" I was beyond thrilled to not have to wander the streets of New Orleans until my scheduled 4 P.M. check-in, with two young children and a tired husband in tow. The front desk staff was very friendly and the luckily, the hotel is located very close to the French Quarter. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would come back again!
