Excellent Value

Pros: I particularly liked the fact that all of the cottage rooms have private verandas. Nice to sit out in the afternoon and feel in the warm breezes...
Cons: I think they should off WIFI for free.
Location: The hotel is located toward the end of the beach nearer to "downtown" Negril, next to Alfred's. It's within walking distance to the shops in Negril.
My wife and I have been going to Jamaica for 23 years and we've stayed in quite a few hotels over the years. Everything from the most basic to top drawer all inclusive. For the price, you're not going to beat Grand Pineapple. We usually don't stay at the all inclusives, because we like to visit local venues and eateries. But when we compared the prices for just a room versus Grand Pineapple's all inclusive rates, it was actually cheaper considering the price of 3 meals a day (and spirits). The menu isn't quite up to the standard of some of the all inclusives in Jamaica, but then they're 3 times more expensive than Grand Pineapple. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, and the beach is second to none. If you're looking for all inclusive amenities, for a non all inclusive price, then Grand Pineapple is your spot in the sun.

The nicest place on the beach.

Pros: Staff, management, Location on the beach and the beach itself. Friendly guests and Jamaicans on the beach. Also the nice rooms and peace and quite.
Location: There are many things to do near by, because of the location you can walk to many different music bars and food places and feel safe.
This was our groups second time there. The hotel is located on the best part of the beach which makes it a nice place to swim for those that like the ocean. If you like the pool water you will have a private pool for most of your stay. Everyone hangs at the beach. So where I stay on the garden side is very nice and peaceful that is also where the pool is located. The location on the beach lets you walk in either direction for the real Jamaican experience. It is one of the safest places in Jamaica I have been to. The Staff is very nice to work with and the manager is always there with a big smile to help if needed or just to say hi to. The hotel is owned by Sandals so the food is pretty much the same as their buffet. I have been both to Sandals and Beaches and this hotel is much cheaper in price and very laid back. A smaller hotel with guests that keep coming back. The age of the majority is older with a mix of youth. A review I read said that this is where the old hippies return too -- which is so true. Many good stories. We will be back for our next trip in Dec of 2017.

Pros: The staff was nice, beach was beautiful.
Cons: Food was aweful & there's a HUGE nightclub right next door!!! ( take your sleeping pills)
Location: You really don't wanna leave walking down the beach, the solicitation of drugs takes car salesman to a new level!
The hotel staff was very nice but we were extremely dissatisfied with the cost of transportation to & from locations. The hotel offered no shuttle svc, which was surprising. We literally spent more money on cabs than dinners!

Negril Experience

Pros: Quaintness.
Cons: Food quality and selection.
The hotel seemed to be well staffed and clean. It was nice that the bedlinens were changed on a daily basis. The beach was beach and water conditions were beautiful. I would have liked to have paid more if the quality of the food had been better. Also, the bar selections were limited without any bourbons.

You get what you pay for

Pros: Beach
Cons: The rooms need to be updated. The liquor selection could be improved.
Location: Pretty close to everything - Ricks and other good restaurants were a short cab ride away.
This place is more like a motel but you get free food. The beach is decent, but the rooms left a LOT to be desired. The bathroom really needs to be renovated and does not have good ventilation, so one person goes #2, the whole room smells :( the food was the most okayest jamaican food I've had but OMG they need to fire the dishwasher - I would have to go through 4 plates just to get one clean one. The staff was pretty friendly, although during a 4 day stay, we had to call to get our room serviced, because I guess that isn't a daily given? The price wasn't too bad but I'll definitely pay more next time and stay somewhere more comfortable.

Hotel on Negril beach laid back

Positive: staff is friendly, attentive, superb; hotel is small, which is what we preferred; food is delicious and varies every day for lunch and dinner (Jamaican and American choices); accomodated bed request; driver named Jinx was the best; beach not crowded, just perfect; non-motorized water sports of kayaking, sailing, and boards included, security 24/7 on beach and at pool; crossing guards to other side of hotel available 24/7. Negative: Room is not luxurious, pillow too soft, and fruit flies and mosquitos, ac unit through window, pool and jacuzzi, little to no reggae music, which Was disappointing.
