"Lively & Friendly"
The staff was quite friendly and helpful! Accommodations were okay, a bit sparse for amenities and accommodation comfort. Great for families and close to fwys. and restaurants. Breakfast buffet was very good and reasonable. If you want simplicity, this is a good choice.

"Close to Balboa park but few amenities"
Pluses: Great location close to Balboa Park and the zoo; Spacious room with art deco interior; Minuses: Fridge smelled like beef grease; fire alarm battery dead (and beeping) when I walked in; main elevator out of service whole time (had to use service elevator). No in house amenities such as breakfast, an attached restaurant, or coffee/social in lobby. All-in-all, a nice place but a little out of repair and impersonal with few amenities.
