Hotel staff was great! Even gave us free breakfast for our anniversary! Room was clean and modern and so were the common areas. Hotel bed was pretty hard. Parking was also a pain being we had to park across the street in overflow. Just a heads up- this area of Minneapolis (midtown) is not the safest. I’d recommend not going out alone at night. We had several drunk people asking us for cash during our stay(not at the hotel- just across the street) ...the hotel is across from the transit station. This is convenient if you want to take the bus downtown, just be safe.

Room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The only disappointment was there was no mini-fridge in the room, which meant we couldn't really keep anything cold over our three-night stay.

Horrible

Pros: shuttle driver was awesome. best part about our stay.
Cons: manage the staff a little better. seems like they don't really care about the guest.
the actual hotel itself wasn't bad. the staff was horrible. our key to the lock wasn't working, we had to go down to the front office 3-4 times just to gain access to our room. this was very inconvenient and when mentioned to the staff they didn't do anything to fix it other then make new keys that worked only one time. we asked to have to locks looked at but it never happened. one of the nights we weren't able to stay because there was a huge fire across the street. smoke everywhere in the building and our room. I know this isn't the hotels fault but they could've done something to make things right (Maybe a refund for the night we didn't stay).

Conveniently located, Dog friendly

Pros: Dog friendly, next to a great bike corridor and Global Market
Cons: Could use new carpets, fresh coat of paint and a good cleaning job.
Location: Next to a great bike corridor and Global Market
Nice hotel conveniently located. The rooms inside the building seemed "tired." Fresh carpet, paint, wallpaper, etc. would make this hotel more desirable. We liked it because it was dog-friendly. It is located next to a bike corridor making it convenient to walk our dog.

Not worth the price

I wasn't happy with the price I paid--even the discounted travelocity price. It wasn't in a great area. The girl at the front desk was a bit rude. There were stains on the carpet and the desk in the room was VERY scuffed up and damaged. They charged an additional $11 per day for parking.

Odd neighborhood but comfy bed.

Location: Global Market was an awesome place to eat.
Nice room, very clean and very comfortable bed. However the business floor (4th) was almost completely occupied by a huge gathering of teenagers without any apparent supervision. They took up the lounge and made a lot of noise and the hotel staff seemed completely clueless. Luckily I brought ear plugs. Also the hotel shuttle while driven by very nice guys, didn't really operate on any reliable schedule.

Christmas in Minneapolis

Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: Children's museum, Science Museum, MN Institute of Art, Sweden Institution, Christmas parade, Mall of America, MN Light Rail, nearby parks and lakes
The Midtown Sheraton is conveniently located for visits to my daughter and her family. I'm always pleasantly greeted at the desk. Even when my reservation was made in two parts the woman at the desk easily made it possible to stay in one room for the whole visit - with no question as to how to handle it. I opted for the "green option" in terms of housekeeping so that the hotel isn't washing my towels, etc. everyday. That worked out well too. The accommodations were fine. I didn't need a king size bed, but there was no choice. The restaurant service and food was good - friendly and tasty. All the staff were very friendly The exercise room, including the pool, fit my needs well - and my young grandsons loved it. I enjoyed having access to daily newspapers - local and national. TV service was good enough. Being close to the Global Market was useful for filling in with good produce and drinks snacks. The only downsize is the condition of the public space - not including the arrival lounge and restaurant. The carpeting in the hallways are filthy and the elevator walls have been bumped a few too many times.

The overall experience at this hotel was good. The hotel room and meetings rooms were very nice. The huge negative at this hotel was the carpeting in the hallways of the hotel area. The stains and filth was deplorable. I would have been very embarrassed if I were have taken any colleagues or referred this to my friends. The hotel should definitely invest in new carpeting in the hallways.

some glitches

Pros: personnel were very pleasant. desk and housekeeping worked well.
Cons: the hall carpet!
Location: I chose this hotel because it's walking distance from my daughter and family house. Nearby is Global Market, Powderhorn Park, mass transit
my key card had to be re-coded twice (up the elevator, down the elevator, up the elevator) 1 1/2 hour electricity outage late afternoon - no phone, melting ice, no tv, etc. hall rugs really disastrously thread worn and rumpled. I thought "green choice" said "don't replace linens"; instead it was "don't come in for all housekeeping". tv didn't work when I arrived.... called desk.... no one came...called again...pleasant fixer came and fixed things and went a bit beyond to fine me a channel/network chart. problem was tv had been unplugged (invisible unless you knew where to look).
