"Great midtown location; old hotel with a facelift"
Apparently this hotel has been a hotel for a long time. So the core of it is still old (old marble staircases, no central A/C, old elevators). Which gives it a nice sense of history; I kept wondering - who stayed in this room in the 50s? What is super nice is that the staff have lived on with the hotel - the gentleman who checked me in worked there for 20+ years. Which is to say - they are not pretentious, and were genuine and helpful. The room was very nice and comfortable. Being in the heart of midtown, it was loud at night. I would probably stay here again because I like a hotel with character and a story to tell. And I like the modern renovations - it had a cool modern flair built onto an old foundation. I also loved the company they used for soap/shampoo/conditioner - Apotheke, locally sourced from Brooklyn (per the bottle.)

"Great hotel in mid-town Manhattan"
Stayed for a long weekend in January 2016; prices for that month were good for midtown NYC for 1 bed (queen size). Lovely accommodations and gym; rooms are modern and clean; cheerful and helpful concierge and doormen; the on-site restaurant is expensive, but there are many reasonably priced eateries within walking distance (e.g., Fig and Olive, le Pain Quotidien, Starbucks, and the little deli across the street); the Omni Berkshire presents a great location for walking to major NYC sights - Central Park, MOMA, Rockefeller Plaza, and lots of shopping in easy reach. No free wifi unless you sign up for the Omni's advertising. Everything considered, I would definitely stay at the Omni Berkshire again.

"Great hotel!"
This hotel is in a good area away from the craziness of times square but only a 15 minute walk there. The staff are very friendly, helpful & courteous. The breakfast has many choices, and good coffee is available all day long! Plenty of places around the lobby to sit & visit with friends. Very clean & comfortable!

"Location, location, location..."
Loved that the hotel was down the street from Port Authority (where our bus came in). The close proximity to the theater district was a plus. Was surprised there was no hair dryer in the room, but one was provided when we called the front desk. Enjoyed having a drink at District M, which is next to the lobby of the hotel.

"Super convenient!"
I decided to stay here because it was directly across from Penn Station which makes arriving and departing by train very easy. The staff was lovely - friendly, helpful. I got free wifi and a free movie which I hadn't expected. The hotel is clean but shabby. Carpets in the rooms could stand to be replaces and the furniture is pretty battered. Very comfortable bed, though. If you're obsessed with cleanliness the bathtubs may not be for you. The one in my room was clean but very stained with...? The hotel is huge so your room - as mine was- may be a lengthy hike to the elevators and there was often a wait for the elevators to arrive. Breakfast was included in my stay -otherwise it's $10.00. The breakfast was strange. Juices, coffee, tea but also big platters of cold cuts and processed cheese slices. Cut up baguettes and "pastries" that were obviously packaged. No toast, no muffin type pastries. Oddly- since breakfast begins at 7 AM - there were chocolate chip cookies ( again packaged) and one morning there was some kind of fruit bread - maybe banana? Cut up melon -which was what I ended up with. All in all it was fine. I was only in my room to shower and sleep and wasn't looking for anything fancy. Next door to Mavy's and there are several good cafes within a block.Obviously close to all public transportation -although Penn Station can be a nightmare to navigate. It's noisy because of the location but if you want a safe, relatively clean place to sleep it's fine. And inexpensive

"Location is great, rooms not so much!"
The Manhattan is in a great location. The outside of the hotel and the lobby of the hotel are amazing but the standard rooms do not match what you would expect from seeing the lobby. Staff was very nice and reception desk was very professional and helpful. The rooms were old and would not have been so bad if they were cleaner. There were literally balls of dust caped up where the carpet met the baseboards throughout the whole room. There were bobby pins on the carpet when we arrived and hair stuck to the side of the shower, I am truly not sure if any of this was cleaned before arrival. However, our sheets and towels smelled clean and fresh. My biggest complaint of this hotel was that we put our "do not disturb sign" on the door one day because we left our ipads, purses, etc in the room that day and did not want anyone to go in. When we returned that evening, the sign was off the door and our bed was made and bathroom counter cleaned off. Although nothing was missing, we were still pretty mad. It was an invasion of privacy and we did not appreciate that the cleaning lady would still go into a room that said do not disturb. We purposely put the sign on the door because of the valuables we left sitting out that day. Overall, I would say the hotel was fair to good and an average experience for us. The location is worth more than anything else there.

"Great staff, noisy street."
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Terry the engineer. The lobby is a bit small and the street was very noisy when trying to sleep. I think this is due to the PABT being across the street. Room lighting a bit week (LED bulbs). The staff took care of any issues we had.

"Fastest, Friendliest Check-in I've Ever Had!"
I used to work across the street from the Hyatt for years. I had mistakenly thought of it as a factory. I stayed here Christmas Eve because had to catch an ear'y flight to Florida. The check in people were FAST ! And to my shock, they were friendly My room was cozy, warmly furnished and bigger than what I had expected. The only thing missing was a remote control for the tv. Housekeeping delivered one quickly. the waiters at the restaurant were funny and friendly . I was so sorry there was no clock in my room but that's the only complaint I have.
