"Center of city-almost"
Hotel is in Grand Central neighborhood with plenty of restaurants available. Subway , bus or taxi can take you to Times Square where plenty of good Broadway shows. Subway can take you to Chinatown, Little Italy or World Trade Center rather quickly. Hotel in warm weather has a roof bar where you can see the Empire State Bldg in its colors. Hotel has some rooms with kitchenettes which can help offset high eating out prices and a D'Agostino's Grocery store is a short distance to stock up your refrigerator. Rooms are not small like many NYC hotels.

"Right off Times Square"
The location can't be beat if you are a tourist planning to see a show. You're only a half block from Times Square with all the touristy things you want and right in the middle of the Broadway theaters. The Hotel is nice but cramped compared to the large lobbied hotels in other cities. The staff was great and the view from the rooftop bar can't be beat.

"Boutique hotel"
This boutique hotel is located close to everything but out of the way of the hustle and bustle of NYC. It is five blocks from the cruise terminals and a $7 cab ride to the theater. I love the Kimpton group. The restaurant that is attached, Print, is simply excellent.

"Great Times Square location."
As a couple, we spent two nights on a first time experience in Times Square. Checking in; we were pleasantly told we had been upgraded to a king sized bed - the room was nice & comfortable, with a roomy bathroom. Also at check-in we must of misunderstood something, we thought we would get a free continental breakfast in the morning. Showing up for breakfast we just got ourselves a fruit bowl & was served a glass of orange juice, ready to leave the waiter brought us a bill for about sixty dollars! After a bit of arguing and a trip back to the check-in desk, the clerk gave us a one time free breakfast coupon. So the hotel did do right by us.

"Adequate hotel if you can get a good deal"
I got an Travelocity deal for $200. For that amount this was adequate. But don't pay full price for this hotel. If you stay here and you want a window that you can see out of you should ask for that. My window was frosted so you couldn't see out of it (room 212). If you just need a place to sleep this is a great's very quiet. Staff was very helpful and nice and my room was very clean. But be aware this hotel doesn't meet normal standard of a Kimpton hotel.

"Everything was great!"
Everything was great!  The entire staff was not only professional, but very personable and accommodating. From the doormen, to the bell hops to the front desk staff and the concierge staff...excellent service!!  My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd anniversary and we were graciously upgraded to a suite near the top floor, as well as complimentary champagne with chocolate covered strawberries and they even through in breakfast one morning!  Very classy!! Kimberly was fabulous!  Upon our return to NYC, we will definitely be staying at The Benjamin again!!!  Double thumbs up to all at The truly made our anniversary in the Big Apple a memorable one!!  Thank you for everything
