"Oustanding Boutique Hotel"
The Chatwal exceeded my expectations in all respects. The hotel itself lives up to its rating as a 5 star. Every member of the hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with state of the art amenities. The location is outstanding for those interested in attending Broadway shows with Times Square just a few blocks away. No complaints at all.

"Great hotel for the price. "
This hotel is fantastic for the price. Very clean and very convenient location. Yes, the rooms are small, and yes it has an outdated, old-fashioned look - but honestly, who cares? A great place to crash on a budget if you don't need all the bells and whistles of a fancy hotel and are good with just the basics, which was all my husband and I needed on this trip.

"Great hotel in mid-town Manhattan"
Stayed for a long weekend in January 2016; prices for that month were good for midtown NYC for 1 bed (queen size). Lovely accommodations and gym; rooms are modern and clean; cheerful and helpful concierge and doormen; the on-site restaurant is expensive, but there are many reasonably priced eateries within walking distance (e.g., Fig and Olive, le Pain Quotidien, Starbucks, and the little deli across the street); the Omni Berkshire presents a great location for walking to major NYC sights - Central Park, MOMA, Rockefeller Plaza, and lots of shopping in easy reach. No free wifi unless you sign up for the Omni's advertising. Everything considered, I would definitely stay at the Omni Berkshire again.

"Generally okay with some room for improvement"
I arrived early and check-in was easy and they had a room available for me immediately. Location is great for jumping off point to almost anywhere by foot or train. Great location if you are hanging out in Hell's Kitchen. Room was small but completely adequate for one person. I liked the front facing street view of the Belasco Theater and had the windows open most of the time I was in the room. The street noise was a little loud, but I didn't mind as I expected as much from a hotel so close to Times Square. My air conditioner leaked, and it dampened the carpet next to it. It didn't bother me so much but was concerned for the Hotel's benefit and brought their attention to it, but no one ever fixed it in the 4 days I was there. Elevators are super slow and tiny especially during noon checkout. As I was only on the 3rd floor, I used the stairs to go to the gym on 2 and up and down to the lobby. The hotel clerk warned me that the minibar was super sensitive so I stayed clear of it but was still charged for an Evian. They fixed my bill when I checked out, but it was super annoying. Also, thank God I didn't have much ironing, the ironing board was super tiny and almost unusable. The closet could have easily stored a full size ironing board. If this were a business trip, I would have been really peeved. I used the gym everyday. It was small but adequate for what I needed. Water and hand towels were made available for use. Not many peopled used the gym so it was emp

"Adequate hotel if you can get a good deal"
I got an Travelocity deal for $200. For that amount this was adequate. But don't pay full price for this hotel. If you stay here and you want a window that you can see out of you should ask for that. My window was frosted so you couldn't see out of it (room 212). If you just need a place to sleep this is a great place...it's very quiet. Staff was very helpful and nice and my room was very clean. But be aware this hotel doesn't meet normal standard of a Kimpton hotel.

"Nice hotel. "Free internet" lacking."
They seem to pride themselves on "free" internet, but it was awful. An ad said we could upgrade for $4.95. Just charge me the extra $5 and don't tell me the Internet is free! Other than that the hotel was perfect.

"Beautiful hotel with great staff"
We spent three nights in the Avalon Hotel Dec 1-4. The hotel is beautiful. The staff... outstanding. The coffee and hot chocolate machine courtesy was a pleasant surprise. We would definitely stay again-- but probably not in the winter. The room was 77 degrees (too hot for sleeping), although the heat was set at 44 degrees. When we called the front desk, we were told the air conditioner was "off for the season", and that we should turn off the heat and crack open a window (it was in the 40's outside-- nature's air conditioning!). Nobody slept the first night due to the constant horns, sirens, garbage trucks, and other NYC sounds no longer blunted by the windows. We bought ear plugs for the second and third night. Not exactly what you would expect from such a lovely hotel.

"A HOME AWAY FROM HOME"
Club Quarters is like being at home away from home. I never refer to them as just a hotel. They are special. The facility is unique (small number of rooms per floor meaning you can hear a pin drop, large living room where refreshments and drinks are available compliments of management, computers available for free use, current daily newspapers, large television screen, etc. etc. And, above all, the people who work at Club Quarters are real dedicated professionals who aim to please those who write their paychecks: THEIR CUSTOMERS!
