Most check-ins returned to complain about rooms
Posted May 12, 2016
I was offered a downgraded room 2X. Finally, I checked in to what I thought was the room I booked. I was over a roof and could barely see the beach. The room was filthy. I called the front desk about the room and their response was ... "owe, you can't see the ocean from your room?".
I paid for the most expensive room and got the worst.
When returning to the front desk, the line of complaints was just as long as the line to check-in. Really can't imagine the number of complaints and unhappy check-ins. Really.
The complaining person in front of me had 4 total occupants and they were booked in a room with one bed instead of 2. They were also supposed to have a kitchenette and didn't even have a coffee pot. When they pointed this out to management - they said they could have a coffee pot brought up to the room. Unbelievable.
I forfeited my $550 paid and went back to Marriott in Hollywood and got a room there for cheaper. I would rather loose the $550 than spend 2 nights in there.
The rooms at Newport Beachside Resort should be listed at $89 / night - very unacceptable.
