This was our first time staying at the Mayfair and Im certain it wont be the last. I wanted to do something a little different this year for my wife's 40th Birthday than staying on South Beach and the Mayfair staff made it very memorable. I called ahead and spoke with the hotel restaurant manager Roberto about arranging a personalized birthday dessert to be waiting in room. I admit I was nervous about the limited selection of desserts but Roberto nailed it!!!! My wife absolutely loved the bread pudding plate and the way it was decorated. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure our experience was a good one. There are a number of equality restaurants within a 2-3 minute walk. The rooftop pool and bar area was a fantastic way to watch a sunset. The Mayfair is about a 25 minute drive from South Beach. If looking to be near the action of South Beach distance may be a deal breaker. But if you are looking for a smaller hotel away from the hustle and bustle then consider the Mayfair. It's a great option and well priced.

Beautiful hotel excellently maintained. The light switches are confusing. For instance the light switch for the balcony light was in the hallway to the bedroom. The television reception is scratchy. There are no interior stairs so you have to ride the elevator to go anywhere. The hotel charges to turn on the hot tub that comes with the room. The construction on CocoWalk across the street woke people up at 6 am.

Mayfair Hotel & Spa

Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
Location: Coco Walk is being torn down and being replaced with a modern steel and glass "mall" The area around the "walk" is still entertaining
We have stayed at the Mayfair in the past, but had gone to other hotels close by because of the diminishing quality. It has a great location, close to Coco Walk and the website showed, what appeared to be updated rooms. They were not!! The Staff is minimal and house keeping is almost no existent. On our second full day there we had yet to get our room cleaned, my wife bribed 1 of the Housekeepers to get it done and then we only had the trash emptied and the bed made, the floors were dirty and we had absolutely no towels. Plus...Coco Walk was being torn down !!! Never again will we stay there!

I've stayed here multiple times and everytime, my visit has gotten worse. I will not be returning. First and worst of all, my room was dirty upon arrival. There were coffee spills on the counter that hadn't been cleaned, there was no trash can in the room, room servive was slow and almost impossible to reach when dialed. My room was not cleaned on day two of my stay and when i called to report it, i was told someone would be up right away to do so; however, that was not so and by the time someone did arrive to clean the room my toddler was asleep and i did not care to be interrupted. Lastly, check-out was chaotic, and the staff seemed unfamiliar with the checking out process.

Complementary not in their vocabulary

Pros: It was near the area where I wanted to be.
Cons: They could be more reasonable for what the extras cost. I think they wanted $30 to fill a hot tub and $6 for a Twix bar... come on.
Location: They were plenty of shops in the neighborhood
It was very disappointing that this hotel would charge you for what seemed like everything. They wouldn't even give you a complimentary bottle of water. Considering what you pay to stay here you'd think something would be complementary. But it didn't seem that way. I did not eat at their restaurant though I heard their food was good. Though the hotel itself is nice building I believe that most of the rooms balcony views are poor. My view from the balcony, as was most of the other guests I talked to, a wall or some sort of lattice. In other words, no view.

Beautiful hotel! Beautiful rooms! Super food!

Pros: Everything.
Location: Pool on the roof is wonderful! There are shops, restaurants, a playhouse all within walking distance.
Loved the location! The staff bent over backward to insure my complete satisfaction! I'll be back next year!

Very beautiful

Beautiful hotel. Copper, plants and water everywhere. Still needs some updating. No vent in the bathroom. No outlets in the bathroom. Not much is complimentary, lots of extra charges. Beds weren't ver comfortable, our double bed had a sink hole in the middle.

Very Disappointing

Cons: The amount of people on staff could be upgraded
Location: Fat Tuesday Bar,Duffy Sports Bar, and the Cheesecake Factory
I was very excited about going to the Mayfair hotel because of the reviews i heard about it. When I checked in the staff was very friendly. Well once we got into the room we noticed that everything to buy was very expensive including the water, I mean who really pays $5.00 for a can a of coke and $4.50 for M&M candy? On top of that I told the front desk that I was stepping out for a few hours and can they send housekeeping to clean my room, I came back 3 hours later and my room was not cleaned. The next day I called room service to bring ice, they came 1 hour and 30 min later, after that I told the front desk that I was leaving again, and can they clean the room, I returned several hours later and the room was not cleaned. When I complained about it, they apologized and stated that they were under staffed and they were too busy trying to accomodate a wedding that was taking place that weekend. I will never stay there again and it is plenty of hotels in Florida where I can get very good service. The only thing I can say if the comfort of the room was great and the hotel looked great.

It was a nice hotel but they had baby lizards running around in my room i ran across 3 different ones throughout my 4 night stay also when i arrived the room smelled like mildew. Other than that the hotel was clean and the layout was like no other hotel ive been to...it was beautiful
