Nice, clean room with a with a patio. Perfect.

Posted Aug 24, 2016
Cons: The pool could be a little cleaner.
Location: The location was perfect as well. Right in-between Whalers Village for shopping and Black Rock for snorkeling.
Pleasantly surprised by a fridge in the room and the room had a nice patio that opened up to a large grass area. Perfect for the kids (obviously, first floors only). The staff was great. The pool was a little dirty with sand but I'm assuming there isn't a ton they can do about since since guests are going from the ocean to the pool all the time. The location was perfect as well. Right in-between Whalers Village for shopping and Black Rock for snorkeling. We'd happily book this hotel next time around.

Location excellent/Conditions fair

Posted Jul 29, 2016
Pros: The location, the staff was friendly, accommodating and most of the amenities were good.
Cons: Temperature of room, communication on the Sunday Brunch & those with reservations should have a separate entrance & the bed sheets could be upgraded.
Location: All were excellent.
The location is excellent for beach access and activities. Most of the staff were wonderful and pleasing. They took good care of us. We had two major issues. One our room was warm and had to demand a fan be brought in since there was no one to take care of the issue. We had reservations for the Sunday Brunch at 10:00 a.m. We had to wait in line even with those who did not have reservations and/or having the regular breakfast. We were sat in the breakfast area and not told where the Brunch buffet was and that we should be seating in there. The bed sheets were not the usual standards we are used to. I cannot say that we will return to this hotel.

Very family friendly beach hotel

Posted Jul 26, 2016
Pros: Location on the beach. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Hotel needs a little updating. Small bathrooms made it difficult for wife and I to get ready in the morning. Prices at hotel restaurant.
Location: Whaler's Village is a short walk with plenty of shopping and a couple of restaurants on the beach. Short drive to Lahaina.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. It is a very family friendly hotel right on the beach. Lots of families with kids. We had an ocean front room in the Kauai building. Short walk to Whaler's Village. Overall we had a nice time and would recommend this hotel.

Ok to sleep there

Posted Jul 3, 2016
Place was on a wonderful beach but is very outdated and old Daughter slipped on first step in pool; contacted front desk @ checkout and their reply was "Sorry we will take a lot at the step ." Never asked how she was. Man after us slid on same step too.

Don't pay more on this beach1

Posted Jul 2, 2016
Pros: Great sunrise at Haleakala and bike ride down the crater tour. Pick one with a follow van!
Cons: Had a maintenance issue with a running toilet but they fixed it quickly.
Location: Took a helicopter tour, sunset cruise, Segway tour of Lahaina, did a beachside cabana massage at nearby fancy resort. Lots of golf nearby.
This hotel was great and on the same beach as much higher placed hotels. Would stay here again for sure! Nice restaurant and tikki bar. Didn't use the pool since the ocean was right there. Great parking with easy in and out - no need for valet. Luau was fun too! It rained during the luau but there was no need to take cover - typical short lived warmish rain.

Mouse in the room!

Posted May 31, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: The front desk staff was friendly upon arrival.
Location: Good location.
Upon arriving in the room we opened the door and a mouse came out behind the refrigerator. I went down to the front desk and they offered a different room, I explained that I was not comfortable staying there and they refused to refund my money. I got to pay for a rodent infested hotel that I didn't stay at and went down the road and stayed at a very nice Marriott. Do not stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, unless you want some uninvited guests.

A Great Traditional Hawaiian Hotel

Posted May 31, 2016 on Expedia
Located in the Kaanapali Resort area this little gem is true to its Hawaiian roots. If you have small children or young adults you may want to stay at the more commercial hotels. The first morning guests are welcomed with a wonderful breakfast, a song sung by the staff and an overview of the Islands activities. It is not a time share pitch. What a great way to start your vacation. The morning you leave there is a lei ritual which is very beautiful. The hotel Is close to black rock, a good snorkeling spot. You are also in walking distance to the Whaler's Village with shops and restaurants. The room was plain... nothing fancy. The bed was very comfortable. But with the beautiful weather and activities we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. We reserved a room with an Ocean front view. We enjoyed watching the sunset sitting on our deck.

nice location

Posted May 31, 2016 on Expedia
Not a fancy hotel but the room is nice and spacious for my husband and I. It's close to the beach and the food in the restaurant is not bad. However, the hostess was quite rude. Also, there would be more varieties for the night show. It's the same everyday!

Will return for this Hawaiian experience

Posted May 30, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: Location- location- location. Warm Hawaiian vibe.
Cons: Wish the beds were a little, better.
Location: Snorkel Black rock- or walk to whaler's village- such a great locale- in the middle of everything that Kaanapali has to offer.
One of the oldest oceanfront hotels in Kaanapali, with such Hawaiian charm. Right on the ocean- so close to blackrock. The staff treat you like family- and there are many Hawaiian touches and aloha traditions that other 4 and 5 star hotels don't do- I love how they recognize their returning Ohana. We stayed in the Molokai building- large room layout- with plenty of storage space, larger lanai- and other desired amenities. Such a great value for its locale.
