Communication! Posted Jul 5, 2015 on Expedia
Well, at check-in, when my friend and I walked in to the breezeway to check in, the attendant looked up at us, saw us, said nothing and turned and walked into the back room. He came out in roughly 2~3 minutes and checked us in, but his lack of communication before that was a harbinger of things to come. On our last day, check out at 11, we decided to go to the beach early, planning on a 10 AM shower and check out at 11. When we get back to our room about 945, we find the water pressure is gone and so is hot water. No notice from the staff! We call the front desk, and they tell us about the city needing to fill up a reservoir and water will be restored at 11, so we tell them we will take showers at 11 and be out before 12. Then, at 11, water is semi-restored, although our pressure is still too low to run the shower. And, the hot water is off. Apparently the condo management decided to do work on the hot water system, and the hot water was not available even at 11. This occurred with NO WARNING to the occupants. The front desk said "someone" was to have provided notices, but this did not happen. Eventually, after it became clear that we would not have water pressure for a shower, and we would not have hot water, we decided to wash in the sink and use microwaved water for our hair. So, management communication skills? F. Management concern for tenants? F. They just did not care. What more can I say?
