Excellent resort

Pros: The amenities are second to none.
Cons: The room service could have been better, our room was only cleaned 2 times in our 7 day stay. And we had to ask for fresh towels a couple times
Location: It is located very close to kapalua bay (our favorite beach and where we got married) Also very close to the historic Lahaina district.
Honua Kai is an amazing resort. This is the second time we have stayed here. We plan on coming back here in another 5 years and plan on brining our kids. This is a very family friendly resort

Large Rooms

Pros: Spacious rooms, access to pool and beach.
Cons: Friendlier front desk and wait staff by the pool.
Location: Napili Beach (go early!), Front Street, snorkel, snorkel, snorkel...
We stayed in a 2 bedroom with a resort view with 3 teens and 3 adults. The rental was huge with plenty of space, a deck, washer, dryer, full kitchen and dishwasher. The beds were very comfortable. The pull out sofa was extremely uncomfortable. My teenage daughters pushed some cushions together and slept on the floor, rather then the pull out Finding a spot at the pool was not a problem. Cleaning staff was awesome. Front staff seemed quite unhappy. We don't tend to ask much when traveling, as we spend most of our day at the beach and exploring the island. We experienced a few rude interactions with the front desk and wait staff at the pool that were a bit disappointing. We had picked the resort based on 5/5 reviews. The beach in front of the resort has some coral, so swim out before standing. Walk on the path towards the Westin and it is easier to walk into the water. Overall, great stay. How can you not be happy in Maui?!!

It was everything and more!!!

I will stay here again next year. I really liked the three different pools and loved that Duke's resturant was on the resort.

A good family Hotel

Pros: The rooms have always been great. The lobby is large and open. Staff is friendly
Cons: Lower or no facilities fee
We have been to this hotel off and on for the past 8 years or so. It has become primarily a family hotel. That means kids, lots of kids. If you have kids it is a great place to go. If you do not have kids and want some quiet time it may not be the best choice. It has a total of three pools. One of them is a larger type pool. The others are more along a river theme which are not as good for swimming, if that is your things. There is one small pool section that is recommended for quiet activities and that is nice ans adults tend to hang out there. My biggest complaint is the facilities fee. It is up to $33 per day per room, including taxes. The facilities should be including in the room rent.

Maui Family Vacation

From the check in to check out I was very impressed. The grounds and decor were beautiful. Our two bedroom suite was clean with up to date appliances. The bathrooms were nice with huge tubs to soak! The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable but our kids didn't complain. I was very relieved when I had to get a document Notarized and there was a public notary on site, fee of charge. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to all! Aloha and Mahalo!

beautiful hotel in a beautiful location

Pros: The kitchen, bathroom, lanai, washer and dryer, staff, facilities, grounds, beach, walking paths, coffee shop, and Dukes restaurant.
Cons: Would have liked some washcloths and coffee for the coffee maker. Was able to get coffee when asked cleaning staff, but no washcloths available.
Location: Right on the beach. Several hotels/ resorts along side it, but Honua Kai seemed to be the nicest. Town of Lahaina was nice. Loved the harbour.
We were so pleased with our stay at the Honua Kai! The condo was perfect - loved the kitchen and bathroom. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was fantastic. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we couldn't have been more pleased. Can't wait to come back - we will definitely stay at the Honua Kai again!

Beautiful

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Get the other pool fixed
Location: The location is great. The views are beautiful. You have a mountain on one side, the ocean on opposite and the resort grounds are well taken care of.
The hotel/resort is beautiful! The staff is great, quick to respond to your request. Very friendly. They offered a free 8x10 photo with a photo shoot with a professional photographer. We had so much fun doing this, highly recommended. Note: one of the pools is closed but they have several other pools to choose from and of course the ocean. The resort fee is charged to room each day you stay. They were very helpful helping people figure out what activities you want to do, even making dinner reservations. They have a small store onsite if you need something quick. But best to do grocery shopping at the Times grocery store one light down from hotel. I would definitely come back and wish it was still there!

Greatest Place to Stay in Maui!

Pros: love the location! and views
Cons: Housekeeping could be every day instead of every other.
Location: great place for snorkeling...swimming...sitting on beach. Great pools. Lahaina downtown only a few minutes away.
This is our 2nd time at this hotel...and does not disappoint. The rooms are comfortable and we loved our first floor sitting area. Loved walking around the corner to get my coffee in the morning! The pools are awesome and can sit in there all day! Love that the beach is right there and can just walk to it and snorkel, sit or play in water. We love going to Duke's in the morning for breakfast. Great service and food! They are great to go to for a burger in the afternoon and can see the ocean right there from any seat. Staff is friendly and accomodates well. only a few cons...one of the pools was under construction...but didn't affect us too much. Housekeeping is every other day..i'd prefer every day...there was one day they forgot our room and had to call at end of day...when she did come, our room was barely cleaned.

Great condo right on the beach!

We stayed in a studio condo with beautiful ocean view. The room was well equipped with modern furniture, SS kitchen, and doors that fully open from wall to wall. Friendly and professional staff. The pools are nice for kids and the beach was great for casual snorkeling or laying out under the banyan trees. Great fish n chips at Dukes. (Driveway is a bit annoying)
